Your CB400SF makes peak torque at 9500rpm. A VN250 makes peak torque at 4500rpm. The fact that it makes fuck all torque is kind of irrelevant when it's sitting fairly low in the rev range.

I am kinda lost to be honest, i was just saying the eliminator was quite nice to ride power wise for a little 250 v twin and it was not struggling at all to do 100km/h, also that it was comfy as fuck to sit on, like riding down the road in a recliner. Seems like a solid bike for someone to learn on and build confidence.
>>
>>14035011
Just saying since the torque is fairly low in the rev range it's a lot easier for it to pull in a high gear despite the fact it's not a powerful engine.

Fuck. So it runs fine when starting up, no lean no rich, but sounds like it loses cylinders as I ride along. Then it doesn't want to start till it cools down. Regulator? Stator?

is it leaking oil anywhere around the cylinder heads?
sounds like a blown head gasket and it is losing compression when it gets hot if it is running fine when cold but losing cylinders after warming up.

It is my brothers bike, he has only ever ridden a little DRZ125 before that bike so he lacks a bit of confidence atm, why he went with a sub 400cc cruiser.
my cb400 scares him at the moment if that tells you anything so the 250 should last him quite a while, in any case when he is ready to upgrade i will probably end up selling him my bike for a good price seen as it puts a smile on his dial when he rides it.

Summer is still a little ways away which gives me time to save up. I could do some research and find a reputable shop that deals with scooters. I'm not looking forward to the drive. It's probably going to be at least an hour and a half.
>>
>>14035519
Haven't ridden one. Can't afford one. Would love one eventually though, althoguh I don't think they sound as good as the 09-14. Sounds a lot tidier.

My 07 is pretty mental about 5,000rpm though. The crossplane I rode (09) was definitely SLIGHTLY better under 5, but past that the screamer was a different beast.

Could also be the weight difference I guess.

Scooters don't require insurance, plates, or even a helmet. I'm not looking to commute back and forth to work. I have a scooter so I can putz around town. I'd like something that I could take on the back roads into the next town (15 minutes away) and not have to worry about going 25-30 in a 45.

Anything under 50cc doesn't require anything. Just a valid drivers license. Anything over 50cc is considered a motorcycle and then you'd have to get it registered, have plates, get a motorcycle license, wear a helmet, ect. ect. No one is going to pay attention to the motor, just how fast I'm going.

most fatal accidents occur at speeds of like 27 mph if I remember correctly. My MSF instructor told us that 2 people have died during his class because their helmets weren't secured properly and they fell the wrong way and just died. We never went faster than 25 during the course. If anything, it's more dangerous to ride slow than it is to ride fast.

Turns out it wasn't. My acquaintance was dicking around in a parking lot, he fall off his bike and hit his head on a curb. Died in front of a bunch of people who didn't think anything was wrong with him and he was just joking around. Fatal accident at 0mph.

Long time lurker here,so today i finally got to see my (probably) first bike;after trying a couple of 600(ninja and cbr)i decided they are a bit too much for a zero exp rider;anyway,it's a cbr250 from 2011,with 11600km(around 600 on track),the seller seems pretty honest and his father is an actually very exp rider(+30 years),they are selling it for 1800 eurodollars, wich is under the current used price, because the guy dropped it on the track a year ago, scrapped at low speed during a turn, the main frame is stable btw,no strange leaning to left or right while at 50kmh,all other things are looking good,,new oil and brake fluid, tires changed in august(2000km ago, pirelli diablo corsa 2),chain and pinon well oiled,no other significant damage other than the scrapes on the fairing.
For me i dont care about the scrapes, since its a learner bike and i'm using it for a year or 2 to get the exp to get on a 600,but an opinion from someone else is always good.
Pic somewhat releated, what i want after this bike.

Why would you want to wear a dirt bike helmet on the road in the first place?
The only reason they have an extended mouth guard is because on dirt that digs into the ground and if you were to be wearing an open face helmet you would probably break your jaw, on the road the chin guard is going to snag the ground and snap your god damned neck, especially considering you sumo faggots do not wear a neck brace while wearing one.
