scooters?
bikes under 300cc?

I've never ridden on a sub 300cc bike that could get to 60mph, perhaps if you are a manlet, a child or a tiny woman you could use such a tiny engined machine, but real men ride 650s to learn on, and at least a liter bike if they plan on using major roads

Dusseldorf (DAPD-NRW). Four accidents involving motorcyclists in North Rhine-Westphalia: It died a young man, three drivers suffered on Thursday in serious injury. On the highway 565 near Meckenheim lost a motorcyclist yet unknown reason, the control of his machine and crashed as a police spokesman said on Friday morning on request. In this case, the young man moved to serious injuries. He died still at the accident site.

According to the police the identity initially not stable. For the man, it is likely to be a 22-year-olds. The police suspect that the driver to quickly drove his racing machine. During the salvage operations the motorway towards Bonn was locked. There were traffic jams.

A 50-year-old motorcyclist drove in Mettmann in a roundabout when a car collided with his motorcycle, as police said. Probably the sun had blinded the driver, which is why it came to the rear-end collision. The motorcyclist crashed and was hospitalized. It originated 5,000 euros damage.

In Neuss motorists ignored when turning a motorcycle and collided with this. Here, the 63-year-old motorcyclist pulled to serious injuries and was hospitalized. Fatal did not exist, police said. The damage is estimated at EUR 4,000.

On the highway 52 crashed a motorcycle sidecar. The police reported the vehicle came between junctions Dorsten-East and Marl-Frentrop from of previously unknown causes of the road and crashed into the guard rail. The driver was seriously injured. The leaderless team came a few meters away on the hard shoulder to a halt. Police said the damage to property with 10,700 euros.

>bike is fucking -gorgeous-
I will find my classic sportbike to restomod. I've got a few models and paint schemes I want.
The best part is making a sluggish, heavy, old sportbike better with new tech. So I get the beautiful old bike looks, but benefit from four caliper brakes, upside down forks, fuel injection, pod filters, new exhaust systems.
And I love the titanium exhaust on that Z1 above. When I get my bike, I'm definitely treating the exhaust with titanium. Because heat discoloured rainbows.

Do you guys have any suggestions on cheap action cams? From my understanding most don't over an external microphone connection. Do I have any choice outside of the super expensive gopro's?
>>
>>13962510
Get an external audio recorder, put sound on top of video afterwards.

If in Yurop, Denver ACT-8030W

If in Murica SJCAM 5000

I use a Drift Stealth 2. It's cheap, pretty good battery life, major downside is the microphone is terrible. But you can fix that by putting a sock over the camera.

Anyone else like riding while buzzed? Makes me feel infinite and aware of everything. I usually pound down a can of 4Loko or fruit punch Steel Reserve.

I get on the freeway, and just punch that shit and feel like I'm on a rocket ship. I even road past a cop on his cop bike on the main road and he sorta looked at me, but then chilled out cause I was following the traffic rules. That's the good thing about helmets cause can't no one see when you're buzzed.

>>
>>13962627
Depends on where the seal is, some seal you can pull and replace externally, some seals the engine has to be cracked open to get to.

Also being that the shifter is almost lowest on the case, it could be the leak is coming from somewhere above that. I had an output shaft seal leak that trickled down the shifter.

Have any of you canadafags ever imported a bike from japan? I'm looking into getting myself an RVF400R but seeing as how they basically don't exist in north america, let alone the west coast of canada, finding one has been fairly difficult. Any ideas?

I hope so, I just want to ride.

I'm only supposed to rest in my bed or recliner and do some walking with this contraption. It has a rod that goes to that knee thing and locks my back in place.
Can't even do physical therapy so I cancelled them from coming to my house. A nurse still sees me every week though.
I was at least able to make it to see my dad before he passed away in the hospital and make the funeral.
When I was still in the hospital he had a heart attack nicknamed the widow maker. Nice right.
I'm keeping the bike for him, he told me not to sell it to pay bills lol.
Hopefully I'll be able to ride it again. I'm so nervous the surgeon will tell me no.
Just had to get that off my chest.

In canada we have a rule where if it's 15 years old or older, it is exempt from all importation laws and can be insured no problem. It's just a matter of finding someone with experience in importing bikes at this point.
There are lots of reputable places near me that import cars, but none of them have any experience with bikes. I found windbell motorcycles in vancouver, but they haven't emailed me back yet.

If it's as easy as you say it is I would go ahead for an import instead of finding one locally. Have you considered the potential difficulty of getting some parts as well?

I have considered the difficulty of getting parts, that's why I want to find a really good importer with experience with bikes so they can make sure it's in the best possible condition before I consider buying it. I already have a jdm STI and it's not too difficult to find parts for, but I'm aware that bikes are very different than cars when it comes to parts. Not everything can be interchangable with parts from other models.

I have considered getting a bike that's more available here, but I've completely fallen in love with that v4 sound and the look of the bike in general.

How the fuck do into buying a bike this spring, going at highways speeds and downshifting? I figure I'll just find a decent jap rat and have my buddy drive me to the seller, then ride the bitch to a parking lot an ride around for 30 minutes or so to build my confidence.

When I drove stick, I'd just put it in neutral coming to traffic or a stop, then put it in year.
On a bike, when going from say 50mph to 15mph, just pull in the clutch, brake, and count the shifts the own?

Yeah, it'll become muscle memory. Nonsequential gearbox so you can hop from fifth to second if speeds allow. Surefire way to know is But if going to a traffic stop, just cluch in, go all the way down, stay in first at the stop with clutch in just in case you need it.
>>
>>13963325
>just pull in the clutch, brake, and count the shifts
That's what I used to do all the time, and still do on occasion. I would hold in the clutch until I needed the throttle again. Now I just go down one gear at a time while letting the clutch out between each shift.

I don't think it really matters how you do it
>>
>>13963345

>>13963325
you revmatch and go down gears one at a time IMO.

Blip the throttle, if you learn to blip right you can legit smoothly downshift with no clutch at all if you want to.

bike gearboxes are sequential, to shift a bike smooth is to shift it fast.
>>
>>13963373
>>13963345
My bad, forgot to clarify gearboxes are sequential but you CAN skip gears need be. Blehhh need more sleep.

Alright thanks guys.
So I'll just make sure to take it easy when easing out on the clutch when downshifting.
I've never engine braked through every gear when coming to a stop, too much engine braking.
>>
>>13963402
I like to let it warm up a bit. Usually, the time it takes to finish putting on my gear is enough to get it to >150F. Then I start riding easy 'till it more or less stabilizes ~250F or so. DR650, so aircooled.

don't rely soley on engine braking when stopping. Do not neglect your brakes, especially the front one.

The problem is I don't know what this device can and can't do yet.
I do know that roller coasters are out of the question. He looked at me like I was crazy when I asked that lol.
Apparently it has a 40 year life until I need a new one.
Unfortunately my dad was full of tubes and hooked up to machines when I saw him. He should have died where he collapsed on the floor but managed to wake up and be alert all the way to the emergency room.
They had to put him under while they did a bunch of things but had to keep him sedated so he never woke up fully. Eventually his organs started to go one by one and once his kidneys went we decided it was time to let go. That was a decision I hope none of you have to make.

Funny story tho. My dad was a goofball and was funny. I'm not super religious but I at least feel like maybe he's sending is signs he's with us.
The day he passed I royally shit myself. Like an absurd amount of shit.
The hospital had been pumping me full of at least 2 types of laxatives since I was on such high doses of morphine. I could go on and explain how bad it was but I think I've embarrassed myself and grossed everyone out enough lol.
I think my dad played a prank on me that day.

Is this your first bike? I would suggest not getting a grey import as a first bike, there are way more options for you within Canada. If you are in Ontario and are trying to curb high insurance prices, its still not worth it. But if you do decide to go with it, there is a guy here in Toronto that goes to Japan every summer and gets some nice bikes. Nuak JDM is his shop, afaik he is still in business.

I remember the time when my granmother died years ago, the skies were a beautiful pink color. Can never forget, I was standing on mulch in a field and looked up... I didn't even know she passed until later that night. And then a year after her deactivated phone started making noises and stuff.

I have relatively bad eyes; it's hereditary. It's myopia and also have astigmatism.
In the back of your eyeball you have what's called a retina, it contains the rods and cones for sight, and the thing *can* detatch itself internally from your eyeball if under somewhat high gravitational stress etc.
Don't want to become blind, and that's probably why I didn't pursue becoming a pilot.

Hi guys, i'm in hospital, i went out riding and was hit side on by a car driven by some Chinese fuckwit who'd never driven anything bigger than a micra who rented a massive Nissan monstrosity. i'd only been riding for less than a year.

the first thing that happened was my ICE, my sister, yelled at me that bike riding was dangerous, and that she's going to get rid of my bike

then my parents yelled at me that they told me it was dangerous and that i am lucky i wasn't killed and that if i don't get rid of that bike i'll be kicked out of home (12% unemployment here) and they weren't going to pick it up from where it was left

the kicker though, what made them all shut the fuck up and stop YELLING AT ME for being hit by a car?

I wasn't on my bike when it happened, i was at woollies picking up oven cleaner and vegetables for my mum, walking in the parking lot. The bike was parked.

Motorcycles, less dangerous than walking.

they released this which is the same thing but better and not retro, they're insanely comfy, have this thin little tank on them because of the engine configuration.

Do some of you guys actually wear race leathers to commute?
>>
>>13963739
Yep, that's exactly how it works here - if it's road legal there's both a kick starter and an e start generally, though I have seen street legal bikes with just kick start floating around

sorry the only meme-manufacturer is yamaha with it's meme-T series of bikes literally designed to appeal to people who are shit at riding.
>>
>>13964063
It's not a meme, just an inside huehuehue joke.
If it gained traction and oc was created and it spread far enough then it would be a meme
tl;dr learn what a meme is faggot
>>
>>13964071
First thing I thought of was " wow, that's edgy" and then I saw your filename.
It's like they let /b/ try to advertise. Only thing left is some monster energy logos.
>>
>>13964085
Like I said. BIRTH of a meme. As in at the very start.

Fucks sake faggot. Do you even into critical thinking?
>>
>>13964085
a meme is repeated idea

So everybody, any V-Storm is hereby referred to as a scooter, try and argue on reddit and other places that it's technically a scooter if you are a reddit poster (i am not myself)
>>
>>13964071

Yes, this is the birth of an epic new meme
>>
>>13964119
Like I said, they're designed for people to do little pulls between like 50 and 120 km/hr (not too fast that'd be dangerous) and to go post online about how it "wheelies for days" when they're too vaginal to do anything other than bounce the front wheel a few centimeters when they hit the throttle.

They are a bike for straight line heroes and idiots, more engine than chassis.

I don't mind the engine, if they made it rev out a bit more, hotter cams to put some extra power up the top and wedged it in an R6 frame I'd be all over it, the mt-09 is a spud though, hate them.

Should just spend a bit more and get a bike that corners amazingly too like the new gsx-s

Replace with newer model scooter pads. They're better because newer. All problems solved.
