play this over TBM2

pendulu casual sounds like parts of bladelores and cloudline at once, but it's not as good as either of those.
latentcall tho
>>65029344
That track just happened to be playing when you posted that. I'm surprised by how well it fits.
>>65029344
love this desu
>>65029369
Fuck no, it was chimer 1-5-1 that was playing. I keep getting them confused, but the tracks still fit.
>>65029344
It lines up perfectly, fucking lush
>>65029347
confessions: I never liked cloudline that much
bladelores is untouchable though
its bad
>>65029400
i love cloudline but i specifically remember that it wasn't really considered a standout on watmm until sean said it was his favorite in the aaa.
>>65029400
>never liked cloudline that much
How ? I'm not saying your taste is bad or anything, but how could you not love cloudline ? It's so fucking good.
>>65029453
not surprised lol
>>65029453
It actually happened to be my favorite track at the time that I read that. It's nice to see Sean agree with my slightly uncommon opinions.
>>65029437
FailFish
>the bass on c7b2
rob needs to lay off the baked beans, damn
/aeg/ has been the best general in months
>>65029595
It really puts the rest of /mu/ in perspective, doesn't it ?
After the amount of material they churned out for AE_Live this seems sort of normal, but when I step back I'm just fucking amazed that they actually released a 4 hour album like Jesus Christ autechre
>>65029607
aye
foldfre casual is love
I think this costing what a 4 hour album would cost indicates this an official "album," though Autechre might not be fond of the album format. In past reviews, I remember them saying that the albums are just collections of tracks they like that they finished around the time of the album release. Exai was also supposed to be 5 separate chunks (4 on Exai and 1 on L-Event). If they had the AE_STORE freedom in 2013 that they did now, I bet Exai would have been similarly released.
>>65029762
i do hope they continue to do some physical releases, I would be sad if it was all digital
mesh cinereaL sounds like if captcha made a breakfast
>>65029729
fucking casul
>>65029729
pendulu casual > foldfree casual
the bassline, then That voice in curvcaten though in the last min or w/e
That's my fave sequence in the whole elseq
Anyone got an elesq link?
>>65029833
the bassline in the entirely of 13x0 step, but particularly starting at 3:30 is amazing
>>65029814
"no"
>>65029790
Exai and L-Event cover art might have been a mockery of the people buying the physical copies. Pay [x] dollars for this bulky two-color square. And people really want those bulky two-color squares!
>>65029833
I still can't hear the voice in curvcaten
>>65029814
wait if you play pendulu hv moda, pendulu casual, and foldfree casual at the same time will something cool happen? like that thing with playing the tracks from Syro at the same time.
Why is freulaeux so comfy?
I like how puffy-sounding the first repeating sound is... like it almost sounds like an airbag being deployed over and over. Does that make sense?
>>65029884
>>65029762
But Sean said he actually preferred listening to Exai on vinyl. They hate CDs, not vinyl.
Anyone here collect Autechre records? I'm thinkin about the Exai boxset that I hastily sold and am regretting it.
>>65029910
thanks for reminding me to listen to pendulu hv moda, it's a fucking banger and those crazy fm delay effects where you get weird noises swirling in the background is so good
btw what syro thing?
>>65029940
I have Confield, Exai, L-Event, and a near pristine copy of LP5. My collection isn't impressive, but Autechre are all digital now, so it's OK.
>>65030003
post some pics
>>65029980
https://www.reddit.com/r/aphextwin/comments/2idc6l/someone_combined_circlont6a_and_syro_u473t8e/
combining two songs creates another song, i think this is what anon was mentioning
>>65030015
No.
>>65030041
alright then
>>65029940
I have every all their albums on vinyl with the exception of Chiastic and LP5. For EPs I have L-event and Envane.
>>65029925
yeah he does prefer vinyl due to the novelty I guess, though he also said some music is much better in digital than vinyl format. the size of the record might also keep away a vinyl release, might cost too much, and since he, as you said, doesn't like the CD format, there might not be a benefit in a physical release. Could've also had trouble getting it to sound right on vinyl, but idk.
>>65029344
dank
>>65030032
very cool, but i think it's to do with how both tracks are versions of each other
>>65029896
5:36 is the cool bit I'm talking about, but your can hear it in the background before then.
But before 5:36 there's a glitch thing to cleanse the pallette, then the bassline sounds coool as f, then just as you're thinking "this is cool as f" the voice comes in at 5:36 louder to cement the lushness
>>65029873
I love the 2unlimited rave chords
>>65030072
since the other anon doesnt want to would u wanna post pics of the collection
>>65030081
yeah i didn't think too much of it when i saw it, wasn't even sure if it was a rdj easter egg like other things he's done and not just two similar tracks
This is their best work
I don't think they've used a french-ish track title like freuleaux before, have they?
Also the beginning of oneum reminds me a lot of rew(1) from MoT.
>>65029884
The Exai sleeves were pretty colorful
>>65030169
Fleure
>>65030098
Are you talking about that noise that pans over the bassline ? Is that a modulated voice or something ? If so, I haven't noticed.
>>65030150
there are quite a few moments where the tracks clash so i'm not 100% convinced that the tracks are meant to be played over each other (especially because in the thing liked each track is panned hard to one side) but it shows just how immaculately produced afx's stuff is
i'm pretty sure it's possible to do the same thing with some of the tracks from analord
got to be honest lads, I'll be disappointed if elseq is twelb. Elseq is lush but it seems too similar to ae live to be a new album
>>65030207
Ah you're 100% right thanx anon
Made an alternative cover. I didn't like this one.
mesh cinereaL is the absolute highlight of this album
>emotional pallette is dope af
>chaotic but pleasant somehow
>insane switch up near the end
>all this despite being 24 minutes long
>>65030207
It's FLeure you absolute bellend
If I ever see you unstylise an Autechre track name again for ur own little GAMES expect to get a beat down
>>65030237
>tDR
>putting fake physical textures on their art
m8
>>65030228
yeah it seems farfetched
and yeah, i bet the analord releases might have something special inside especially since I'd say bigger fans of rdj would be the ones to look inside them for hidden things
>>65030237
im not opposed to variant art but i dont like the textures
>>65030218
I've only listened on headphones, it's clearly a fucked up voice, maybe you're on speakers?
>>65030150
Other anon here, could you explain why you want photos of the records so much ? I might post some for you if you really want them, but I'd just like to know why.
>>65030233
I'd be dissappointed if it isn't. This is such a bold statement for an actual album. Also would love it if they never officially announce it as an album.>>65030233
At least the album turned out to be decent, feed1 was fucking lame
>>65030312
Yeah, I'm listening on my stereo system because it's the only way to listen to music. I tried playing that part on a pair of electrostatic headphones just now and all I could hear was some noise at 5:36 that sounded like it might be a modulated voice.
>>65030373
Hearing it in good quality it's pretty good. I still prefer c16 tho.
>>65030332
oh im not the same anon who asked first, im only interested bc i think collections are cool
if its causing a conniption for ya then feel no need
>>65030297
>>65030305
This might please you more.
This album is almost like a fractal. All sub-albums are arranged like proper albums but the entire thing also works. Elseq 1 is immediate, fitting for an intro, 2 and 3 have a similar long-short-long structure which makes them more digestable, 4 and 5 feel comfy and finish things off.
>>65030335
But a big part of the fun with new ae albums is seeing how their style has changed. Elseq is just a prettied up ae_live, no big stylistic shift.
>>65030287
Underrated
>>65030424
That's more tDR-esque imo
>>65030410
>if its causing a conniption for ya then feel no need
Not really, it's just kind of a pain to take all of the records out and photograph them, since my telephone requires me to email the photos in order to get them on my computer.
>>65030410
>>65030150
I'd post pics but i don't have a place where i can display them atm, plus my psychotic cat is around and i don't want her fucking up my copy of amber that i paid a small fortune for.
maybe later tho.
>>65030442
Agreed at first. I want ae to surprise me. After Confield it's hard to surprise by changing their sound. Oversteps was surprisingly pretty, Exai surprisingly long (kek) but this is very unexpected as An album. A 9 hour live EP is less impressive. Still great though but elseq is miles ahead.
>>65030470
I used to be friends with a girl that worked for TDR on last.fm. I didn't make a copy of my friends list when I deleted the account and now I can't find her again. Fucking idiot.
>>65030394
It definitely is, reminds me of the voice at then end of augmatic disport.
I'm listening to all tracks from elseq 5 at the same time. It's more efficient that way.
>>65030599
Seriously tho the hihats of pendulu casual go really well with spTh's beat.
>>65030424
I think the rectangular double artwork fits the monolithic nature of the album better.
i listened to elseq 1-3 and now I have elseq 4-5 left. it's a good day lads
>>65030808
You did the worst possible job at that, anon.
>>65030424
why not just arrange every album picture, then each single track in order, you'll end up with (1+5)+(1+3)+(1+3)+(1+5)+(1+5)=26 pictures
remove the first album cover arrange these pictures in a 5x5 grid and viola you have artwork for the entire thing
Lads whats happening, i've heard only elseq for two days and i'm feeling like my senses are on overdrive
>>65030502
>>65030513

>>65030442
So would you rather they had just not released AE_LIVE? The relationship between live and studio has always been kinda like this, the only difference now is that the live soundboards were released.
Also foldfree casual is rly rly pretty damn.
>>65030968
They remind me of that unofficial dropp video, p. cool.
is this ep or new album?
>>65031161
It's a quintuple LP
>>65031161
being classed as an lp atm
Shit. Someone clear this up for me real quick.
Should the 1 and 5 in the album title be separated with a hyphen or a dash?
>>65029918
freuleaux is the best thing they've done, it kinda reminds me of ISAN (not the amon tobin album)
>>65031349
Hyphen, of course. Why the fuck would it be a dash ?
wow everyone is completely silent on this release on social media/publications. its weird desu.
>>65031410
https://www.discogs.com/Autechre-elseq-15/release/8541092
Discogs has it as a dash, as does the ae store and RYM. The discogs chaps are super anal about this kind of stuff, so i'm leaning towards their version.
>The hyphen (‐) is a punctuation mark used to join words and to separate syllables of a single word.
>The hyphen should not be confused with dashes (‒, –, —, ―), which are longer and have different uses.
>>65031258
>>65031190
it's actually classed as a quintuple LP AND 5 LPs on rym at the moment...
>>65031563
Yeah, but Discogs also doesn't allow prepositions and articles to be lowercase in album and track titles, which is objectively incorrect and doesn't make any sense. But if the AE Store has a dash, then I guess that's correct, although I really don't see why because this situation definitely warrants a hyphen instead.
>>65031532

(?)
>>65031611
Warp is officially calling it a "collection." They're being purposefully vague and fluid about what this release constitutes as, I reckon.
bout to make popcorn and watch mulholland drive what should i expect
>>65031684
Who cares ? It's four hours of new ae and it kicks ass, so I don't give a shit what it's called.
Considering it's digital only, makes me kinda wonder if ae is moving past just the album/ep format and just do whatever.
>>65031731
>what should i expect
Not elseq, so it's pointless
>>65031743
I sure hope so. I could get used to more releases this long.
>>65031741
Uh, okay. I was just clarifying, mate...
next five elseqs pls
ah fuck man!
the drums at the end of latentcall
>>65031627
I've had another look at the ae store and further down the page above the artwork they've actually used a hyphenated version, as well as having the dashed variant at the top of the page.
I agree with you that in context the hyphen makes more sense, so I think I'll revert back to that. I just wanted it correct for muh scrobbles.
>>65031161
it's new music
i made a total image of all the elseq track and album covers
sorry that it's not too big, i only had small res of the track artworks
>>65030444
underrated ae trips
>>65031743
I think they are, and that elseq is either a series of 5 eps or just a giant fuck you to the album/ep format. the catalog number puts it as 512 but you normally wouldn't give individual discs their own subdivisions of it like they've done, but at the same time you normally wouldn't give 5 eps the same number either.
i love autechre and this release but i feel like you are all more ~elite~ than i am coz i have so much left to unpack with all this material and 2bh i still have barely differentiated between any, or all, the tracks. you lads who can remember little facets of tracks or timestamps at this juncture are absolutely mental lol
>>65032609
oh, i actually like this.
>>65032802
Well I've already listened to most of the album three times now.
>>65032844
i've listened to the album twice and i'm still lost in the woods lol. i just get so immersed in it that i don't remember to check and see "aye, what track is paying this lush bit right now" y'know. my mind is just mush.
>>65032904
the way i remember it is that the first one has got some decent tracks on with cool rhythms, second one i don't like so much, third one is like the odd one out with random tracks, 4th one is like disk 1 but slightly less good and the 5th one is ambient dub heaven
Its 5 albums of tracks.
Every track has individual artwork.
Every album has indiviual artwork.
The sum total has artwork.
This isn't an LP, it's an art gallery.
>>65032980
they did exactly the same thing as quaristice
it's better if you listen to the music rather than looking at it though because the latter is a very abstract concept
>>65032609
that looks dope af
>>65032609
woah
>>65032609
It bothers me how a lot of the circles are cut off by nothing.
>>65033014

this is a head fuck
>>65033103
this. i also don't like that the tile borders are visible.
>>65033106
there was even more quaristice material than there is elseq material
think again
>>65033106
that anon was referring to quadrange, not quaristice. quadrange was both three EP's and a really long EP.
>>65033149
>>65033161
I'm aware of what you're talking about but in concept its nowhere near the same as elseq being released all at once, bundled, with the same names. It's an entirely different conceptual approach.
>>65033103
the original artwork is like that, it's strange
>>65033140
i was working with low res pictures, will be able to do it better once the art goes online properly, sorry
>>65033259
It isn't all that different from quadrange.
>>65033321
Maybe it has to be pieced together like a puzzle.
And then it'll spell something out.
has anyone ever meet the lads before?
>>65033380
it seems like it could be like that, there are multiple ways of organising it
seeing as there are 26 images, i compiled 25 and left off the last one (the last track of the 5th disc) and ordered them like so
>>65033491
No, but I got to watch Sean vaping for a hour last year

>>65033539

>>65034446
considering it's "eleven sequel" that might imply that it's not lp12
but regardless, i'm extremely happy because i think this is better than exai (and by extension, the best thing they've done since draft)
How do I get Rob and Sean to adopt me and become my parents?
>>65034446
It is absolutely LP12, and you should stop claiming it isn't.
I guess Life of Pablo wasn't the new Kanye then.
do you guys think Rob asks his sons for lunch money rather than gives his sons lunch money?
>>65034588
yeah, it's def lp12. but in the .0009% chance that it isn't then, well, i don't know how the "real lp12" could top it tbqh. i'm really content rn.

>>65035118

>i don't know how the "real lp12" could top it
It won't. These kind of releases are always ae's best, just like Quadrange was significantly better than Quaristice and Oversteps.
>>65036377
quadrange better than quaristice? yeah. but oversteps? nah.
>>65035592
Did he say it in chatmm? Can't find it.
>>65029884
It's a really nice design though.

>>65036436
yep, hence no screenshot
Why is that main snare sound so quiet I'm c16, it's practically all bass with no punch. Is the flac version better? Supposedly the difference in quality is related to the fange of frequencies.
>>65036412
Oversteps is the worst album that ae released since Amber.
>>65036509
yeah, the exai vinyl boxset is so lush. the oversteps one is even better.
>>65036555
Listen again, if anything, its a return to the amber sound
>>65036555
n-no...
>>65036585
That's why I dislike it. I like Autechre to be complex and rhythmic like Exai and elseq, but Oversteps and Amber are relatively conventional and don't go too far out there. They aren't necessarily bad, but they don't interest me.
>>65036627
you don't find the melody to be complex? love how they play with counterpoint on it. almost has a serialist vibe imo
>>65036658
I guess it's just too catchy for me. I don't like it when Autechre sounds like real music. It was fine with LP5 and Tri Repetae since they were progressing further toward their abstract sound, but Oversteps just feels out of place.
>>65036627
amber is conventional, sure, but oversteps was reverb the album and that much reverb isn't conventional at all.
>>65036658
I agree it sounded weird as hell to me at first, like there were too many notes or something.
Conventional my ass. The melodies were very complex and resolved in to a catchy melody at the end like treale and qplay.
>>65036549
The snare definitely sounds more spacious in the lossless version
It's strange because I normally can't tell the difference, but the compression on this track completely squashes the snare.
>>65036707
i'm curious, what have you heard that sounds like oversteps? and i'd say it was progressive for them - they were applying the same methods that they use to generate their fucked-up beats and employing them for the melodies instead of the rhythms, creating this sort of fragmented effect. they've never played with that in depth before. but fair enough if it's just not to your taste - i understand completely.
>>65036797
my only strong criticism of elseq is that it's definitely super compressed. ae_live was too; i suppose it's just the nature of the more "live oriented" material?
>>65036797
Yeah that's exactly how I felt. Kinda miss the abrasive midrange from confield, it was just so brutal. Hopefully the flacs will help me enjoy these tracks more
>>65036875
>Kinda miss the abrasive midrange from confield
this is definitely my biggest hangup about 2008-2016 era ae and i say that as someone who enjoys all their material.
IMO they should('ve) do(ne) more stuff with the Oversteps sound.
>>65036873
>i suppose it's just the nature of the more "live oriented" material?
It's strange they would release soundboards at all as they've said multiple times how important the room is when they play live.
>>65036957
I remember listening to that record for the first time, and Bine came on. It was just so terrifying and dark. There new tracks are more groovy and bassy but less conceptual and emotional
I miss the old AE, straight from the 'Go AE
Chop up the soul AE, set on their goals AE
I hate the new AE, the bad mood AE
The always rude AE, spaz on the tunes AE
I miss the sweet AE, chop up the beats AE
>>65037090
But we think new AE is good. And we appreciate hearing them free for jam a bit more, like quadrange. Just a bit overcompressed, flac fixes this issue mostly though
>>65036875
On second listening, I realized that the stream on the ae store is actually in mono, so I think that's what caused the snare to sound flat.
>>65037141

that pic was from a coil gig iirc

Oh sorry, wasn't there this morning, thanks

If I had an even remotely credible internet connection, then I would. My upload speed is ultimately worthless.
Best I can do is post the Oboom link.
>>65037408
yeah it can take a while as people get it and spread it around. especially with files as big as these. it might take a bit of time for you to get to the front of the download queue however.
>>65037451
Yeah, whenever I get it, I'll put it back up so others can enjoy quickly
>>65031647
still, not a lot of people talking about it - most of that stuff is from yesterday. it's understandable tho, most people don't spend their friday nights listening to 4 hours of a brutal mancunian glitchfest.
is there an imgur album where I can download all the artwork or something?
anyone have the link?
>>65037517
I know it was posted in one of the previous threads. go through the 4chan (not rbt) archive, ctrl+f the last few ae generals, ctrl+f for imgur
I'm happy warp finally got behind this thing, I wonder if they're getting any money from it. I have a feeling these records and the live albums are probably the result is a discussion as to the future of their business relationship. Maybe they're sick of traditional release patterns and just want to be a bit more free-form. These releases could possibly just be a means to bring attention to this marketplace before releasing more significant material down the line.
>>65037508
I think if you click 'live' you would see more
>>65037619
got it! Thanks
http://imgur.com/a/emGuw here it is
>>65037663
i did lol i know how twitter works
>>65037692
Oh, you must have scrolled a lot to get to yesterday
>>65037635
with this new format in place i can honestly see autechre releasing more and more material far into the foreseeable future. it's so convenient that they'll prob be uploading stuff to the ae_store when they're, like, 80.
>I wonder if they're getting any money from it
probably not a lot desu. that's why i'm not super mad about the ridiculous price jacks from flac to wav. esp since they aren't getting $$$ from physical releases.
>>65037583
accurate
hey boldfaure if you're in here - nice review mate
>>65029292
>getting excited about new work from an artist when you haven't listened to their entire discography yet
Why? it's just meaningless buzz that you only appreciate in order to consume with the herd. Not to mention you lack the context in which to properly analyze it. Do you get "hype" about that vinyl-only EP from 1996 you've downloaded but haven't listened to yet?
>>65038063
who are you replying to
>>65038063
No because the type of music they make now is completely different from (and also much better than) the type of music they made from 1996.
>>65037980
t. regards, boldfaure
>>65038133
im offended - im not nearly so autistic
>>65038100
The entire thread
>>65038116
Have you heard all of their music from 1996? 1997? 1998? 1999? etc?
You don't actually know if it's different or better until you've actually listened to it
>>65038063
>>65038197
Why are you assuming people haven't listened to the music of an artist they're a fan of?
>>65038148
your reviews suggest otherwise
*snarky laugh*
>>65038214
Because most people haven't listened to the ENTIRE discography of any artist, including self-proclaimed fans of said artist
>>65038197
>Have you heard all of their music from 1996? 1997? 1998? 1999? etc?
Not all, but enough to know that it's different from what they're doing now. I've listened to every one of their full albums.
>>65038197
To satisfy you, I'll list all the Autechre releases I haven't heard :
Lego Feet
Anti EP
Cichlisuite
Aside from two of their three Hafler Trio collabs and their various remixes of other artists, that's everything.
>>65038301
listen to anti ep right now.
>mfw I realized it's Untilted and not Untitled
>mfw I realized it's Confield and not Cornfield
>>65038901
I've never read Confield as Cornfield
>>65038901
>Cornholiofield
>>65038197
ive listened to every single one of these between 3 and 10 times (besides the new one obviously, and ae_live only twice)
go fuck yourself
>>65038301
anti EP is fuckin gr8 m8
cichlisuite too.
>>65037508
I'm drinking and listening to the album tonight. Just started, about minute in right now. Excited.
I think the thing is people don't really know - is this a live album? A lot suggests that it is.
Can you guys help me out? I've been wanting to get in to autechre for a while now, after listening to arca. His old ambient works bore me and his newer works are way too complex for me... Where is the middle ground I should enter from?
>>65039358
check out "digeridoo"
>>65039278
no one knows anything, really. the whole affair has been awfully cryptic.
>>65039358
Start with Chiastic Slide maybe. Then LP5, then Confield is where they went nuts. Listen to the EPs in between as well, just as good as the albums. Especialy EP7 is basically an album
>>65039358
what does arca have to do with it?
>>65039429
currently listening to ep7 right now, its great
>>65039450
he's trying to trigger us
also, stuff like this is why I stopped going on WATMM. fucking circle jerk of fags enforced by mods and admins
>>65037718
don't make fun of me but i've been monitoring the activity p closely. yesterday there was a flurry of hype and reactions but today has been dead :/
>>65039054
>only listening to LP5, Confield, and Exai ten times
How do you keep it so low ?
>>65039482
Quaristice is ae's Geogaddi
christ... this is fucking amazing.
I don't know how the fuck they do this (on
c16 deep tread" toward the 7 minute mark of the track)
those fucking rhythms///
>>65039536
hmm. interesting theory actually. Quaristice is very underrated.
>>65039478
seriously my lad just disable people's avatars and signatures and ignore ppl's usernames next to posts. it's what i've done there since ~08
i don't know who anyone is here
decent banter and memes there too tbqh..
there's probably some way to make everyone Anon there too with a userscript or something but i'm not /g/ so idk
>>65039478
i don't see how mentioning arca would "trigger" someone unless they were awfully wound up. they're often mentioned in articles/write ups together and compared. not out of the realm of possibility that anon wanted to get into ae from being a fan of arca and seeing these correlations. it's not so serious.
>>65039587
arca sucks dick bro
>>65033491
yeah i got to speak to them after a show last year and they were even more ~lush in person.
>>65039644
~lush
'~' in propositional logic means 'not'
So I think what you mean is "they were even more lush in person" without the '~'
>>65039666
The fuck? I fucked up. I fucked up. I fucked up. I fucked up. I fucked up. I fucked up. I fucked up.
I'm so sorry. I'm trash.
>>65039599
Yeah
But his music is really bad
>>65039587
I was actually told by someone on /mu/ to listen to autechre after asking about artists similar to arca. And in *my opinion* exai is similar to mutant
>>65039599
not sure if you're reminding us he's gay or if you think his music is trash
they've well and truly left this guy in the dust at this point, eh?
what a shame tommy sperged out with the brostep helmet twaddle
#midlifecrisis
>>65039777
if you want something semi-similar to arca... go with Move Of Ten, Quaristice, and Draft 7.30
They all feature similar abstraction to what Arca does but obviously a lot better
>>65039804
Music utter trash
It's not that I don't like it a bit, it just rubs me the wrong way and I never want to hear it again
jesus... "pendulu hv moda" legit kind of sounds like Arca
and come to think of it a lot of stuff on Quaristice is kind of similar and goofy sounding... "bnc castl" comes to mind
>>65039864
Wow slow down lad
Have you talked to a health professional(s)?
Would Sean want you to kill yourself? No.
>>65039884
>Would Sean want you to kill yourself?
desu probably I'm a pathetic cunt
I get the feeling Sean would tell me to fuck off
pendulu hv moda for the win
>>65039854
I love how he does that, and I know what you mean. This feeling is really strong on the track "Soichiro" where you just really want to stop listening but just can't. I eventually stopped feeling that way and enjoyed his music a lot, and it's also a great way to get into idm/experimental if aphex twin/boards of canada bore you.
>>65039864
if you're looking for attention then fuck off... but if you're actually in a very dark place, reach out to people, professionals and all of that, not people on this site

My thread was gonna get reported so I just posted it here
it's ok i'll delete it
Well I'm glad this is the direction they decided to continue in. Seen some opinions that it's too static or doesn't really go anywhere, but I've alway enjoyed the ride more than the destination. Unpopular opinion, but super duper technical and progressive ae has never done a lot for me (I don't like Untilted as much as everyone seems to) relative to their other work.
EP7, for instance, is incredible repetitive and the tracks often end in the same place where they started, but the what takes place during the track is so interesting that I don't mind.
>>65039864
Talk to someone immediately.
>>65039666
this isnt propositional logic dumbass
curvcaten reminds me of something from quaristice... maybe simm?
>>65040244

UH-OH LAD
but idk i was listening to autechre and aphex twin at about 14, just their more accessible stuff though.
>>65040268
what?
>people saying this is LP12
why wouldn't Warp say it was their new album?
they clearly don't want people thinking that this is their new album. it's essentially a compilation of extra material a la quadrange.
>>65040244
>am i weird for...
kill yourself.
>>65040244
b&
>>65040141
i could be totally off but this is a release that imo ppl more into dance music might enjoy even if a lot of it isn't dance-y. if you're one of those big "idm heads" that wants a bunch of drum wankery and prog-rock like structures then you're not gonna like this one as much. i think i sorta appreciate this one cause i can hear how they've totally collapsed dubstep and dub techno and breakbeat hardcore into this really weird thing. just my 2 cents.

helll... digeridoo and power pill were fucking awesome at like 12, and then like 12-14 Richard D James Album was solid as fuck, and maybe a few tracks from Incunabula
I didn't really start really getting into Autechre until maybe like, 16-17 though.
And I didn't start getting into Confield / LP5 Autechre until weed

Whatever it is, all I know is that my initial impressions of the release are that it's quite jammy and loose, freeform...
Yet I have no FUCKING idea how they pull off these sounds and stuff live, if they do. It's so far beyond my perceptions that I no longer have any understanding of what I'm hearing. On Confield and Draft I used to just be like "wtf is this" then I'd kind of pick it apart
This is just raw alien hardware at this point but it's very human, it's like fucking rock and roll in a way...

i'm a new to autechre so its either
Licflii or bladelores
but i haven't listened to far into autechre so that'll probably change
they really screwed over their fans with that $22 price hike for wav. did they have any say in that? if so im disappointed in them. seems greedy.
>>65040817
You do realize how much work goes into making music right? You know how you want to raise kids, send them to a decent school, and eat well on the weekend... well so do the musicians who make the sounds that you consume
If you can't afford it, then imo you should either wait till you can or... you know... have a friend play it for you... or something
But if you CAN afford it - then fucking pay for it. I can't fathom having thousands of dollars in my bank account and even thinking about complaining about paying for music from artists i respect
elyc6 0nset the hilight so far
>>65040817
server space 2bh
>>65040871
i don't mind the initial price for the mp3. $33 for four hours of material is completely logical and fair. $22 EXTRA dollars for cd quality though? that's fucked. the extra fidelity does not warrant such a hefty charge.
new thread
>>65041000
>>65040936
i don't think that justifies the cost. server space isn't that expensive.
>>65041007
why do we need a new thread?
that ass shaking beat in latentcall tho
>>65040949
oh it's fucking >50$ for wavs?
I mean... its 4 hours of music honestly
but I can understand you don't want to pay for it. I don't want to pay for a 50 dollar dinner either but it's usually pretty delicious
at least the music lasts forever and you're supporting art
>>65041086
damn. I've got like an hour and a half before then.
just broke out of "elyc6 0nset" and into the next two tracks which are good
>>65041103
again, what does slightly higher quality have to cost 22 extra dollars? there is literally no reason it should cost that much extra unless they're trying to rip off "audiophiles."
even server space isn't a good enough reason. that should add like $10 at most.
>>65040421
bladelores
>>65041154
what did you think if elyc6?
I don't like it "yet"

How can they possibly construct any one second of this. I couldn't produce it, nobody can. But they produce hours and hours on end of this stuff
How much is generative and how much is their human touch? Oh my fucking God
