how could you possibly say something so unbelievably incorrect

AN kept watering down their music and never had Axis' skill at ambient soundscapes or a guitarist on par with Blenkarn. TCN is harsh, but most stuff after that is Wacken metal with minor aesthetic twists.
>>
>>60344364
>I haven't listened to The Red Chord: The Post
>>
>>60344578

Everything up til '..Constellation' was literally perfect, Axis were a one-shot novelty grind act.

>Wacken metal

you're better than this
>>
>>60344681
>Axis were a one-shot novelty grind act.
Except The Ichneumon Method is their least mature work. They didn't write a song on there as good as Heaving Salvation In The Paradise of Rust, or anything with nearly the emotional intensity of The Great Unwashed VI/Ordained (here's another way Axis stand above everything else in the genre, the overarching narrative which lends them so much more atmosphere), or any riffs as good as the main Sigils and Portents riff - My Time, My Reign, My Tyranny comes close but isn't quite as jawdropping in my opinion.

And no, I'm not kidding, later AN is hilarious in how they cop bouncy melodeath riffs basically to the note while still trying to retain their tryhard misanthropic/postapocalyptic aesthetic.
>>
>>60344844

Well I'll revisit Axis but you're dead wrong about Anaal. Their last couple of albums were questionable but until then they had a perfect blend of blackened grind and melodeath that was satisfying as fuck, only a tryhard necrofag would write that stuff off tbqh
>>
>>60344950
Their music is well-written but when a band is playing melodeath riffs and trying to seem fucking evil and ominous it's impossible to take their aesthetic seriously

dmsharetwink isn't even human anymore. With his calculated and mechanized categorizing, sorting and recommendation process that focuses not on emotional impact but aesthetics and composition, he's been stripped of the genuine ability to appreciate music for its own sake and has to vicariously experiences pleasure through anons' thank you posts.

Of course, there is an exception: he gets off to faggy metalcore with whiny vocals from a low-test, thin-as-a-rail, sans facial hair teenaged dreamy heart-throb; perfect music and image to represent him.
>>
>>60345138
i basically listen to music primarily for emotional impact so i dunno where you came to this characterization
>>
>>60345138

i like the way you write, bud
>>
>>60345051

well I don't want to retreat into the realm of 'YOU JUST DUN GET IT BRUH' but I think AN have always represented a uniquely british version of 'dark'. It was tongue in cheek from TCN onward, it isn't meant to be 100% serious. I'll still put their version of 'man at C&A' up against any straight-faced evil tune you care to come up with

Lemmy Kilmister has come out as bi-sexual

"People have difficulties overcoming guilt", Lemmy said, "One thing that makes us feel guilty is our sexuality. I know many good people who are gay or bisexual, and I'm proud to say that I can Rock and booze with the best of them. Why? Well, because I am one."

You heard right, Lemmy has decided to come clean and spill the truth out to all his fans.

"My sexual urge for females was always a driving force to the music. Songs like 'Limb From Limb' and 'Make My Day' were written as odes to the female body. But sometimes we, as men, can not always find females to be the more... err... nourishing gender sometimes. Y'know what I mean? Sometimes this... feeling takes you over and you wanna experiment and try out new stuff. I am proud of being a bisexual, and this still doesn't mean I don't want a little bit of p**** on the side (laughs)."

"Prejudices are always hard to break. But I don't give a shit about what others think of me. Motorhead has never been about the critics. It's all the music. Just because I enjoy some guys doesn't mean jack. I still churn out the music every fucking night, all the fucking time. I am proud of my fans, and they know that I always give 100%."

Rock n' Roll, and in particular Metal has always been a rather macho genre. However, with legendary musical icons like Rob Halford (JUDAS PRIEST) and Freddy Mercury (QUEEN) admitting to being homosexual, the stereotypes have been stripped down. Lemmy's coming out may come as a shock, but can we deal with it? The man certainly can.

"I love you guys. No innuendo intended!"

You heard it here first.

Let's share what our pleb friends are like guys (keep it metal, of course)

I have a friend who listens to Ozzy's solo work and has never listened to a Black Sabbath album
>>
>>60368004
i probably would be a DT/BTBAM fan if I weren't such a fucking emotionless contrarian
>>

>>60368044

>>
>>60368029

Dream Theater has never been good, though

this happened to me actually
I heard one of their singles on the radio and thought "wait, weren't they metalcore or something like 10 years ago"
>>

Yeah if you see them live they're kinda goofy, just playing hard as fuck for fun
>>
>>60368165
so they're like Devin in that respect, eh (though less so)? I guess that British sort of tongue-in-cheekness isn't my thing, then.
>>
>>60368000
I actually just listened to Sabotage for the first time, and Symptom of the Universe fucking goes in hard
>>
>>60367965
It's not bad. But i say that about almost everything. It's like video game music if it was metal?
