A true visionary and pioneer of modern rap
After revisiting TLOP I find it become hard to rank with the rest of his discography. But I also find my rankings of all Kanye albums ever changing and damn near impossible to make concrete. Each album has a different sound and subject matter, but this is what makes him great artist. He's so difficult to understand, but i guess that makes him a creative genius. MBDTF at 1 and LR at 2 have gotta be fuckin obligatory. Any other albums in those places would be impossible. The rest of the positions are basically toss ups. They're all comparably good.

I don't really understand the obsession with people pretending every single thing that comes from onkyo or free improv or other artists is 10/10. It's like they don't care about the music and just want to try and look cool for liking something off kilter or that they identify with.

I had sort of trouble wrapping my head around it at first due to all the apparent silence. But I think it makes for good background music at least. I do want to just explore the genre more though
