JUST RELEASED THIS ALBUM ITS $FREE PLEASE LISTEN ILL LOVE YOU FOREVER
Experience musicians,
When you are playing chords and the like, do you visualize it as the note names themselves, as visual patterns on your instrument (chord shapes guitar, seeing on piano), as the intervals between the chords (whether that be the intervals from root or stacking thirds), or something else?
Also general music discussion related to visualizing/thinking about music while playing.
On piano I kind of see them as shapes that are projected onto the keys starting at an arbitrary point. They are just collections of intervals after all.
visual patterns

Experienced*
Also if anyone is wondering I currently visualize the chords on piano, and i'm honestly just lost on guitar when it comes to playing chords freely, I just know like 15 shapes and just repeat them, which sounds and is boring and dull.
Let's have a /prog/ thread and see how it goes.
Everything slightly related to Prog counts. So feel free to post Avant-Prog, Math Rock, "Experimental/Art" Rock, even Jazz, Fok and Metal!

Cabrakaän - Of Love And Death EP (2013)
>Mexican Female Fronted Symphonic Folk Metal
Cabrakaän is a Mexican band that utilizes two vocalists, a clean female and harsh male vocalist, and adds in a bunch of instrumentation in there. Some native mexican instruments,...

Ignis Fatuu - Unendlich Viele Wege (2014)
>German Folk Metal/Mittelalter
Ignis Fatuu is probably the best of the Mittelalter bands, a large wave in Germany that doesn't really seem to get all that popular outside of it. It's common for bands in the genre to have a slow pace, a melodious, sing along attitude and predictable song structures. Unendlich Viele Wege is a bit less predictable, with more variations in speed and interesting flute lines with a good vocalist.

Weeping the Black - Tormentor Ego Martyr (2011)
>Italian Progressive Folk Metal
Weeping the Black has only publically released one demo so far. Tormentor Ego Martyr sounds very unique, with a lot of percussion being used like a Djembe and a percussion digeridoo, interwoven well within the demo, which still has a high production value. The demo is pretty slow paced, but has a high variety in its intensity with the rhythmic percussion providing the baseline to the tracks.

Crom - The Fallen Beauty EP (2003)
>German Viking/Power Metal
The earliest real release from Crom, the EP suffers from relatively poor production quality, but with The Fallen Beauty this is actually a plus, with their follow-ups going a bit too far into the epic category. The Fallen Beauty succeeds in its simplicity and reminds a lot of Bathory, which makes it unsurprising there's a Bathory cover on it.
