seems like every music reviewer out there with "good taste" is a pretty big douche.

>fantano reviews illegal leak, laughs it off and continues to douche it up
>scruffy is basically an autist who runs a terrible twitter and all his music reviews are a few lines at best
>pitchfork is fluff, english major-tier paragraphs of bullshit
>deadend hiphop is basically unwatchable due to stream of thought type filming and all the personalities stop surprising me (for the most part, not you breezy)

are there any good reviewers?

What is some good black 1950s rock & roll?

I know entry level shit like Chuck Berry and Little Richard.

I only specify black music because I'm looking for more of an R&B sound than a rockabilly one.

Why would you still be using Grooveshark in 2015? I haven't used that shit since 2010 and that was just to listen to music on high school computers.

"Sleater-Kinney and Bob's Burgers"
wow

I just finished listening to this and it dawned on me how most of the music that's critically praised now a days are the type of music that is completely devoid of any unique characteristics. This album for example is what I'd imagine characters in Portlandia to think as "great". This piece of shit sounds like every other brooklynite praised lena dunham hipster SJW white guilt lauded crap thats so bland and uninteresting (both sonically and lyrically). Chance the Rapper and A$AP Rocky suffer from this too, literally 100% of what they do is just a replication of what preceded them.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that copying certain aspects of older music can allow for innovation (90's hip hop/Biggie is a good example) and catapult the genre into new places. But the artists I've mentioned do the exact opposite, they replicate with the intent to plagiarize as opposed to innovate.

I know that some people will respond with "le wrong generation" and "look harder bro xD" but the people who usually say that think Kanye's Yeezus is a good example of original music (while it is a good album, its nothing him and others haven't done before, and better).

Given the immense (and continuously accelerating) advancement of the genre since the late 80s, why haven't there been albums that do what Kool Keith did with his debut but on a whole other level? All we have are Death Grips and Drake, and while they're both great artists, nothing they've done is progressive.

I know it's impossible to rap music (from any year) that is 100% original so give me some modern day hip hop that is at the very least 70% original in terms of content. I really enjoy the work of Future and Young Thug but I can't help but think what makes them as "original" as people think are their concepts and aesthetics as opposed to the actual music. Lets have a long and healthy conversation that doesn't get sidetracked by unimportant aspects of this post (SJW, le wrong generation, nothing is truly original xD)
