What is the best way to write catchy songs? Should I start with lyrics or voice melody first? For me it's always been the latter. I'd sung some gibberish and sometimes nice melody would come along, I'd have a collection of different voice recordings and at first I'm really excited about some of them and want to start writing proper lyrics but after a while I think they're no good and delete them. How should I approach this process? Any songwriting tips? How did greats write their songs?
