/mu/'s obsession with the album format is detrimental to the discussion of music.
Attempting to "discuss" 40+ minutes of music in less than 500 words is pointless and asinine. Any track longer than two minutes is going to require at least a few sentences to discuss at even the most basic level.
And yet /mu/ is filled with posts consisting of little more than pictures of album covers and accompanying posts attempting to evaluate the entire album with just a few words.
I know that very few of you even care about discussing music and would rather post dank memes all day, but isn't there anybody left who wants to actually talk about the music?

yeah well they didn't really do themselves any favors with the last site update. It looked like a desperate attempt to "modernize" their site so they could make more money. I think even less people would want to use their site now, hence the enormous backlash from their core audience.

The Money Store is probably the best of them for first time listeners. It's not something that I was into in the first listening, in fact I kind of fucking hated it. Then I tried it again, and it turned into something else. I can't quite explain it, eventually I just really fucking loved most of their music, although I still haven't really gotten into some of their stuff.
TMS and Exmilitary are the best in my opinion.

Mutant > Product > Art Angels
Art Angels > Mutant > Product
In terms of content, effort and artistry.
Though I will say I enjoyed mutant thoroughly, art angels made me cry on the first listen and for me personally, that's the ultimate marker for masterpiece-tier albums.
