Since the inception of rock music as an uninteresting break off from Jazz, not a single album of rock, pop, rap, electronic music, or any other genre of popular music has done anything that was not already done by either:
1) classical composers
2) jazz musicians
3) avantgarde composers
Years before them.
The reliance on the redditors of this board upon popular music is a testament to why threads and discussion here are such shit.
haha true >.<
>nobody on /mu/ can prove me wrong either
I wish there was a better place for music discussion.

(not true, by the way)
Old threads gonna die.
So here's a new chart thread :D

Sounds punk-ish to me. Someone should have a better understanding than me, but I'd call it Post Punk or No Wave

Hi /mu/,
I was recently given a cassette tape with the label "LP6" it appears to be a bunch of acoustic songs, some of them early versions from Basement, others unheard.
Does anyone know how to rip a cassette tape? Does /mu/ even give a shit? Here's a shoddy cell phone recording for proof. The cassette says this is Mr. Goodmorning but that can't be right...

MR BATEMAN, YOU'RE GONNA WANNA SEE THIS!!!
I don't know, but you should post this in an Elliott fanpage or something, they might go crazy.
>>60755555
i have no idea, maybe connect the output jack from the cassette recorder to the input jack of your computer
Does /mu/ like death metal?
Does /mu/ like experimental music?

Its good to see a shitpost once in a while where everyone here is trying to sound as pretentious as possible.
i want to make music. i have no idea where to start though. i played a bunch of instruments when i was younger but i'm 22 and haven't done anything in years. where do i even start again? my favorite artist is grouper and i listen to mostly stuff in that realm, but i have no idea what kind of equipment i would need or how to learn to use it.
figure what instrument and genre, and hire a teacher. can you afford it? do you have the space? too old to feel comfortable? i dunno, but a teacher is the way to go to restart your instrument game.
>>60755266
i don't feel too old, i don't want to be a "musician" or be in a band or anything i just want to make stuff cause listening to music feels good so it seems like making it would feel good. idk what instrument guess i should try and learn guitar again? here's my last.fm if that would help: http://www.last.fm/user/lakaii738. i also don't know much about music so i wonder if i should learn more/listen to more before even trying to make anything.

I don't get it...
She's not a bad singer by any means, quite the contrary, but I've heard several people say that "her voice just is so powerful, and breaks you down."
I just hear it and think "meh, this is good I guess."
What is it that has the world worshipping her?
Shoulf I be feeling the same things as everyone else, or am I desensitized to emotion?
YOUR EMOTIONS ARE A LIE THEY'RE ALL JUST CHEMICALS IN YOUR BRAIN
>>60755111
>What is it that has the world worshipping her?
Her label's marketing budget.
>>60755111
Her voice stands out when compared to other top 40 pop artists. If you listen to a wide variety of music, it won't sound as special.
im new to this board and i dont know /mu/tants' opinion on them
enlighten me guys
really shitty stuff, to be honest with you
extremely shitty stuff
so no

Leave, go back to Reddit, tumblr or where ever you came from.
I'm not trying to be rude, you'll seriously be much happier there. This place sucks the life out of you, and once your here, your here for good.

white light is actually underrated
I think they rate it on a scale of expectation and reputation of the artist, not a global scale of 1 is bad and 10 is amazing
