Will she ever make a video as good as Oblivion (not the Tom Cruise movie) again? FWOB/LITVD had some nice ideas and imagery but ultimately it was kind of stupid and made no sense. Her explanation of it is fucking stupid and is something you literally can't figure out without listening to the interview, and even when you know it, it has no real relation to the films and is stuff that doesn't matter.

Why don't bands use panning like the beatles did?
panning is like sauce on a burger
tasteful use of it is expected, almost mandatory these days - a boring mono stereo space does not a nice mix make
however it needs to be used with discretion, too much of it becomes messy and detracts from the overall quality leaving you with a soppy tasteless burger

The Beatles used extreme panning because 4 track stereo technology was so limited in those days. You end up with drums in hard right, lead vocals hard left, etc. It wasn't stylistic, it was necessity.
Should I even bother listening to this? I saw it under shoegaze in the record store the other day and the guy was telling me how much it sucked compared to Loveless
It's their worst record. Not really worth listening to.
