The albums are simply a consolidation of various publications' AOTY lists, I didn't choose them. Also I know that the bracket is wonky, the list order was randomized which I now realize was a bad idea but oh well, which is why the Jenny Hval pick seems out of place compared to albums like OPN's or Joanna's that were eliminated early. Now I know better for next time.

guys how do I choose between my academics and music. people tell me I am better than kendrick lamar and shit so I am somewhat confident. I dont know anything about music as in notes and crap but I know about snares and rap. should I put effort into my classes or keep failing like I am now because I keep lying to myself that I am actually actively trying to be a rapper?

Guys I listened to You're Living All Over Me for the first time a few days ago, so now I wanna talk about the influence it's had on shoegaze. I'd guess since YLAOM came out a year before You Made Me Realise came out, and because YMMR doesn't have the CT-influenced dreaminess that Loveless has, YLAOM is probably a pretty big reason for Shields to start adding a focus on guitar textures to their twee or post punk or whatever.
I imagine Kevin Shields listened to more than one album that year though, so there's probably other factors, but I don't really know anything else.
