Come to think of MGMT, tried a lot to be like Nirvana. First album was full of ironic rock songs from a fresh new genre, then their second album tried to sound different and less mainstream.
The only difference is In Utero is a brilliant album that was written to perfection whereas Congratulations is a tryhard album written by amateurs who lucked out when the Flaming Lips backed their first over-produced album

ok, just put it on. swell is really good, too. and arise dear brother is tight af all around. i think bcs of how much more subtle this record is compared to king krule stuff, it's one that i'll appreciate more over time. still hoping for some stuff leading to another tour tho bcs i need him inside me tbhfam

By cumulative praise, or how little negative feedback they get? I see plenty of dislike for Slint on /mu/, whereas most post-rock I love never gets hate here (or even mentioned).
