So, when did you realize that Beethoven's late string quartet's are the best pieces of music ever written?
Also, have you ever composed a serious work? On which instrument(s)?

Related to writing music, how do I juice up my left hand on the piano? Playing arpeggios and chords just feels to basic. What are some techniques I could employ to make it sound more professional? It's nothing jazzy, more so ballade-esque.
>go to a concert
>get seated, the stage is empty
>orchestra comes out, everyone applauds
>they tune for a couple minutes
>soloist comes out, more applause
>apparently he needs to tune too because he's pressing keys on the piano with his head on it like he's Beethoven or some shit
>conductor comes out

I've finished 3 out of 4 movements of a string quartet
The only people I can think of are mostly "memes" not that I don't like them. Death Grips, OPN, SOPHIE etc.
>>61308341
>Death Grips, OPN, SOPHIE
OPN is the only one of those three that qualifies.
>>61308412
wew get mr patrician, you certainly won't be caught enjoying "meme music"
What sounds like Death Grips? just because you don't like them you can't deny they have a very new sound

Analog synths general. Some will probably say this is a new meme and there's no reason to go analog since a good quality VA like the Nords can have the best of both worlds. Opinions? Recent purchases?
analog synths are so 2009
I recently got my hands on a Volca Keys, which is a fucking polyphonic analog synth the size of a cigar box. It sounds pretty good, not at all like a toy, but actually quite pro. Before less than a week, I was so into this that I purchased a used Arturia Microbrute and I'm loving it. Granted, it's a single oscilator and quite limited, but with some effects added, that little beast can give some beautiful colors to a song

Also it's great for learning the basics of analog synths

At least include mandos and banjos as well
Is there a trick to learning scales all over the fretboard or is it just a matter of repeating until they stick?
Is this a good deal?

What is Nu-Metal?
I've heard it simply described as buttrock from the late 90s to the mid 2000s, but it doesn't seem to have any concrete traits that I can pin down.
>>61303110
rap-like vocals, metalcore-like punk instrumentation
>>61303126
So, Rage is nu-metal?
funky metal played in drop-d tuning with edgy lyrics
