Why are bands like BVB so shitty and cringy?

They're not being marketed to you, they're for teenage girls form the early 00s.
Their image is so, so, so, so, so ridiculous. But their music is decent.
I'm more weirded out that bands consisting of men in their 20's are so commonly recognized as playing teenager music. I honestly don't get how that happens or how it works. All Time Low is grown ass men and yet it's well known that their music is mostly enjoyed by little girls, how does that happen??

Most others didnt go to college. There are some with bachelors like 2chainz, J Cole, and Ludacris. Realistically, there has to be at least one out there with a master's. Probably someone who wanted to go to college and drops mixtapes for fun, instead of the other way around so they aren't famous.
