Realistically, how much of this was written by Bowie and how much by Eno?

Not knocking Bowie's songwriting abilities, but this is just lightyears more advanced than anything else he ever made and I suspect Eno wrote 80-90% of it.

>this is just light years more advanced than anything else he ever made

I don't think that's true, even if it is his best record.

I imagine all of side 1's songs were written by Bowie, but produced by Eno. Some sounds here and there were probably Eno's idea, and I imagine any synthesizer you hear is entirely Eno.

Side 2 was likely all written by Eno, but Bowie likely gave him a large sample of random vocals to work with to start. Then Bowie came in after he was done with the tracks and contributed more vocals.

So I'd say it was a 50-50 collaborative effort. Nothing wrong with that. Eno's best works have always been in conjunction with other artists, and the same can be said for Bowie.

Love Straight Edge (not sxe myself, but that culture and its ideas and the song/other songs MacKaye did helped me out during a fucked up part of my life)

For this music computer class I took in high school where we worked with Sibelius then Pro Tools, we even had an opportunity through the class to go check out the studio where all this magic happened. Giggled like a little girl through it all due to excitement.

Anyone work at a record store?

Do you get to decide what plays over the radio? If so what do you usually play?

>Anyone work at a record store?
yes I used to work in a record store, OP.

The most fun part of working there is destroying old music nobody wants anymore. I've destroyed countless vinyls, CDs, tapes, you name it of every genre. I probably destroyed priceless stuff but I really like breaking stuff so who cares. I once used a box of old jazz and blues 78 RPMs from the 20s or 30s to a skeet shoot. To this day, the most fun I have ever had but no OP I didn't decide what's played over the radio.
