Hi I'm new. What is vaporwave and other synth-shit that has pseudo-80s samples, is that what edgy kids listen to now? Thanks.
>>66241910
vaporwave died in 2013
>>66241910
vaporwave is practically already over, it started 5 years ago
>>66241945
>>66241942
Ok so what do edgy kids listen to now?
What the heck is point of synths?
Why use them?
To make music
>>66241858
what would you suggested??? use a small bitmap screen and only navigate with a tiny cursor?
>>66241911
>what would you suggested
Maybe lute or a hurdy gurdy. Just something. Anything than a synth.
>>66241903
I disagree
Do lyrics matter?
I wouldn't know because I never pay attention to them
>>66241720
of course
Depends on the music
Genres like folk are rooted in storytelling

Currently i have almost 200gb of music and while theres no problem with my computer i do worry some day everything will crash and my complete perfectly organized personalized collection will be gone. so what do people use to back up everything? I only have around 200gb so getting something like a 2tb harddrive is just overkill when music is all i care about. Any good products? Would just a 256gb USB work?
I have almost 1 tb of music, divided in 3 hd
no backup
if it's gone, it's gone
just like real life

I got all my music on my internal hard drive on my desktop, I got it on an external USB hard drive that's connected to my router and I got it on my internal hard drive on my laptop. When I get new music I put it on my external hard drive that automatically synchronizes it with my laptop and desktop. I also got most of it either on CD or Amazon because that's how I buy music.
Not music related but
>tfw have 5.2k pictures of Afghan people
>tfw my USB can't handle it
Piece of shit writes that it can store 8gb yet it can't even store 7.5gb. I feel cheated
Heart of the Sunrise > Roundabout
The only good strokes album is Angles
The best Sufjan Stevens Album is the BQE
The first La Roux Album sucks, Trouble in Paradise is much better
ITAOTS is the worst album ever made
The Smiths are the most overrated band of the 80s
Beat Happening is the worst band of the 80s
Have One On Me > Ys
Loud City Song > Have You In My Wilderness (and Sea Calls Me Home is the worst track off of HYIMW)
The only Kanye worth listening to is The College Dropout, Late Registration, and Graduation
The Chronic > 2001 > Compton
Mariah Carey is probably...

But Heart of the Sunrise is objectively better than Roundabout. Does anyone view this as a controversial opinion?
CTTE, arguably Gates of Delirium and Awaken are all better still, though. I'd throw in The Revealing Science of God, too.

>trip named from Styx song
>thinks he has good music taste
Any more like this? I'm a fan of dark, psychedelic, heavy jams that feel unpolished. I really like sprawling double albums as well. Something where you can lay on the floor in the dark with two speakers beside your head and a fan on and just get lost in the music.
This album is a 10/10 for me.
Listen to Krautrock
>>66241563
Oh yeah? Never listened to any before. Got any suggestions where to start?
>>66241603
Can. I'd specifically say start with Tago Mago but if you want something a bit more concise and digestible then Ege Bamyasi.
Bastard vs Goblin vs Wolf vs Cherry Bomb
GO!!
>>66241501
They're all shit.
Wolf is the most consistently good album from Tyler but in my opinion cherry bomb is his best album
I'll bite.
Wolf > Bastard > Cherry Bomb > Goblin
Goblin has aged like shit. YONKERS is the only fucking track I even listen to on it anymore. Middle School/Freshmen Year High School students will love it tho.
Cherry Bomb is so good in some places and in other places it just falls flat. It is not a bad album at all though and I hate how much hate it got.
Bastard aged really well and is just a beautiful raw album.
Wolf is top tier. Has THE best songs of Tyler's career and as a whole it is an amazing album.
The modern Pet Sounds
>>66241472
Actually, this is slightly worse.
>>66241472
not a bad comparison honestly in terms of its sound. it's a wonderful album
It's a good album, but let's not go too far.
>>66241467
2016
1996 is hard to beat.
more recently 2014 has been the best
>>66241467
Also Yerself is steam came out that year
how the fuck is aphex twin making this much money? I love his music sincerely but how in the world does he make this much money?? any Brits know how big he is over there??
