Genuine all-time classic, the absolute showcase of his talent.
Overall he seems to be pretty over it, and appreciates the gesture. I think we've redeemed ourselves for now. Sorry it's so dark

>On Plastic House on Base of Sky, Kayo Dot fully embraces Coffins on Io's electronic allusions, incorporating a variety of synthesizers (many of them vintage analog) to create another work of ambition and magnitude that fuses the explosive musical imagination of a band like Magma with the forward-thinking experimentalism of Conrad Schnitzler or Morton Subotnick. This 40 minute-long, 5-song LP goes beyond the future-noir theme of Coffins on Io and is an innovative and biomechanical work of art. Think seemingly impossible architecture, dead satellites, trashed space stations, wasted old lady heroin addicts hanging out by cheap motel pools, broken people, and a hopeless dead and polluted world transitioning into artifice and mechanism and reacting by being self-destructive, either to the point of utter obliteration or a glorious transhuman condition.
Where do I start with Kayo Dot? I've been following Flenser for their ELHR-related shit for a while and I've seen these guys a lot but I've never checked them out.
Which one is better?
let's see
>shitty broadway showtunes vs greatest album of all time
I think the answer is obvious

>shitty broadway showtunes
That's like calling Pet Sounds "shitty easy listening."
Pet Sounds is a more human album, but when Song Cycle gets it right, it's pretty fucking good.

The actual good one
Hey /mu/.
I'm a guitar player and also a lazy asshole.
I've been thinking about learning cello and getting one just for fun, but I just noticed the tuning is different.
What happens if I tune a cello like a bass guitar to avoid learning from the start? Can the strings handle it?
slap bass i think it's called is pretty weird, sounds pretty bad IMO. but some people dig it.
I know there this one bassist who uses it, sorta gimmicky but looks mental
>>63838432
>Slap bass
>???
>>63838479
yeah you just slap the string instead. creates a much more noticeable sound from what people say

Is there an artist/band who's importance and influence in music is almost the same (or even the same level) as the Beatles?
>>63837866
The Weevils didn't influence anyone.
>>63837866
No there isn't. Please stop asking.

The Four Seasons / Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons - The Genuine Imitation Life Gazette (1969) MP3
>Pet Sounds tier Baroque Pop
This wildly ambitious opus lives up to its reputation as the most bizarre album in the Four Seasons' catalog. With the help of young songwriter Jake Holmes, the straightest of pop groups went psychedelic to create a concept album that casts a satirical eye on American life. The end result is often excessive both lyrically and sonically, but it's also relentlessly inventive, skillfully constructed, and never dull. Genuine Imitation Life Gazette never feels like a cheap cash-in because the group chases its cosmic muse without any worry of pandering to commercial concerns.

Dorisburg - Irrbloss (2016) MP3
>electronic, cosmic techno
This is some pretty chill techno with rich soundscapes, a bit moody. It definitely stood out to me from some of the other selections.

I didn't see DG topic with that physical tape release. That image is good for alternative cover art actually.
Just got a copy. Death Grips cassette limited to 500 is bound to get pricey.
We are in debt with DG do not pirate their music if they decide to sell it now.
Copped because $15 shipped and its death grips. 500 hand numbered if that is even significant
