Because you'll be putting your parents into even more debt.
Because capitalism is a spook.
Whoever knows how to take, to defend, the thing, to him belongs property.

solid albums you can listen to all the way through and like each song as much as the last
Pic related
I hope you know how obvious it is that you are new here. Do yourself a favour a get out.
yep, its all around good album. wish they'd kept up with it. later they only released good singles
but does it have the GOATness of the sequence of first 4 songs in pic related?
Goodnight sweet prince

RIP, Hag...
Wtf I didn't know his health was that bad, very sad
Sticky?
These are the five greatest rock bands of all time. Prove me wrong (protip: you cant)
1. Led Zeppelin
2. Pink Floyd
3. The Rolling Stones
4. Black Sabbath
5. The Doors
On what qualities do we rate a rock band? It sertenly should go beyond pure musical quality - I feel as if representation of sex and drugs is important. The lifestyle of the artists counts, they also have to be huge. Rockstars.
Without a doubt The Rolling Stones, Sabbath and Doors. Considering Iggy as well. Bowie lived that life, but his bosy of work is too 'artistic'. Post 80's is too poppy as well.

Thin Lizzy
That was easy

wrong
Muse and Coldplay never sounded like Radiohead, yet people still refer to them as "Radiohead cover bands" or something similar. Aside from having whiny vocalists I guess?
Thats not true. Dude i was listening to "falling down" by Muse one time and i 100 percent thought it was a song from The Bends by Radiohead. You are crazy. Not so much in their later career, but early on the influence was apparent. Coldplay i dont see so much, thats just because coldplay cites radiohead as an influence.
>>63854384
Musically they sound like Radiohead as well.
>>63854384
Their singers look like variations of each other. Thats where I think all of this comes from.
>this will never be you
why even live?
I feel you OP. I've always self identified as a microphone.

So are we in agreement that this is AOTY? Or at least better than Kanye and Denzel? And it's nothing but leftovers.
Plus everyone seems to have put this as hip-hop's high point so far:
>90 from TMT
>86 from Pitchfork
>84 from Basementality
>80 from Spin
>8/10 from the melon, too
>forgetting about the deak
2 > 8 > 1 > 3 > 7 > 4 > 6 > 5
I agree OP
Too bad hip-hop is a boring genre which has gone through very little innovation in the past 10 years
Why is she considered a seminal avant garde Jazz musician? As far as I can tell her music hardly uses brass instruments.
>>63854237
>Why is she considered a seminal avant garde Jazz musician
she's not.
>>63855166

Bonnie 'Prince' Billy is GOAT. Check out I See Darkness.
Magnolia Electric Co. is also really good. Go to the rym page for alt-country for others but those are the 2 i would recommend
Anyone else think Tim Hecker is really boring? I've listened to all of his albums multiple times and they never do anything for me. Unfortunately, pic related is no exception. This is strange for me, because the artists frequently mentioned as being "similar" (OPN, James Ferraro, Dean Blunt, etc.) are some of my favorite current musicians.
I should qualify this further. It's not that I find ambient music boring- it's my favorite genre and Brian Eno is my all-time favorite musician. What am I missing here? I like other stuff that to me has a similar...

Ferraro is nothing like all the other artists and even less like dean the talentless hack.
But yeah Tim Hecker stuff is really not that interesting to me too.It sounds way too simple and it goes for way too long without any point.
>>63854727
ferraro and dean are pals and feed off each other
ferraro said skid row was inspired by the redeemer
and bbf by dj escrow is inspired by suki girlz and parts of skid row
Ferraro does take more risks and has a more raw sound. while dean takes a pop approach to his experimental music.
>>63854053
I don't think hecker is boring. Your ears probably expect more from his sounds since you like opn, dean, ferraro. they all make music that creates a...

I know that they are friends and all that but they sound nothing alike and dean's last album is surprisingly bad.
