1990 is the best Daniel Johnston release though.
2 was a good year, though...

Why is string music so anti-intellectual?
>>64131058
Because it relies on half wits who can't read sheet music
The ratio of strings to electronics in classical/intellectual music is like infinity to zero, almost, to use hyperbole.
what is bait anymore
Fav albums:
You Forgot it in People - Broken Social Scene
Turn On the Bright Lights - Interpol
Nouns - No Age
Kill the Moonlight - Spoon
Music Has the Right to Children - BoC

is wrong, you should use band - album
nevertheless, you should listen to broken social scene's self-titled if you haven't already. A++ album.
What is the deal with this stupid fucking song?
Damn, if music gets shittier everyday.
I never heard a song that got even more boring as it builds up, but this song changed that.
normies gonna norm

She's the most dull and unoriginal singer in all of the mainstream pop. Adele is just like some fucking Frankenstein's Monster, made from rotten parts of dead bodies of all other famous female singers to pander to everybody's taste.
Tell me /mu/, why is this the greatest phonograph record containing several musical selections, aka album, of all time? Why haven't we still been able to top it, almost 40 years later?
what would be a good book to do?
>>64131053
honestly fampai I'd like to see a ''The Stand'' adaptation done in a concept album like this.
Not as good as the dubstep war of the worlds
Post interesting collaborations you know of between well known musicians

The only place I can find a stream is on Spotify
Ween x Boredoms = Z-Rock Hawaii
Great album, there's a link to it in the archive. Japanese freakouts crossed with psychedelic punk tunes sound surprisingly great.

The Merzbow Xiu Xiu split from last year was pretty cool
Does anybody have a MEGA for the dooob? It's not in the archive.
Do you maybe mean doooob by GRORG DAD?

I'd appreciate that one too.

You're 12 hours early, dumbass. Learn to read a fucking clock, you should have when you were a child.
Shoutout to /blindfold/. Last Friday's thread was really good and this week's theme is Criss cross records selected by jtg.

What have you been listening to? What'd you think of it? General jazz discussion.
Got pic on the strength of a track on last week's blindfold and it's fantastic. I can't think of many jazz albums I've heard arranged like this.
Charlie Parker with Strings is the closest comparison to Focus. At the time, pairing jazz musicians with symphony orchestras was called Third Stream, meaning the third genre of music after classical and jazz. Music headed in a different direction instead, and now we have many more than three genres, but that's the name they called this kind of music by.

>Charlie Parker with Strings is the closest comparison to Focus.
Except the arranging is done completely differently on that album. Parker with strings is more in the vein that vocalists like Ella Fitzgerald used to get arrangements done. Very kind of poppy and traditional.
Focus is more like a modern string quartet with spaces left for Getz to improvise.

glad to hear you liked the /blindfold/
pic attached is another great sax+strings album that's not very widely known
personally listening to Miles this evening

Third Worlds is offline, faggots.
Who even gives a shit about Death Grips anymore desu
>>64131438
I don't even understand why all the pasty skinned cumgobblers on this forum are obsessed with Death Grips. They're okay, but it mostly comes off as heckless pseudo-industrial clobbering the fuck out of okay lyrics being screamed with an accent.
