where is it? :(
Just 3 days! I'm also very excited for it
surprised it hasn't leaked though!

How did you like the new single? The industrial percussion was very surprising given the R&B nature of Butterflies, although I'm glad to say I'm a fan of both styles. It was almost reminiscent of Autechre in terms of jarring metallic sound
Hey guys, so I have a lot of bands that I think are great. But every time I start a thread praising them no one ever replies and it just gets drowned out in the content rush. Give me some pro-tips at how to attract responses to my threads, and put forward the bands I know you guys would love too?
I see a lot of people do the 'Pro Tip: You Can't' confrontational strategy, but so far my attempts haven't really paid off too much.
All suggestions welcome!
ban evade and/or shill an artist or band that is rarely mentioned here that already has a following or praise from music rags.
Pro Tip: You Can't
you dont want them to be mu core
can we have a wallpaper thread?

Fucking this. Love the more ambitious and layered instrumentation and the way they play more with song structure. How can you n ot love tracks like Mammoth, All Fired Up, Rest My Chemistry, The Heinreich Maneuver, Pioneer To The Falls, etc. That album is straight fire.
>>64192555
Shit album, specially relative to TotBL
>they played rest my chemistry live when I saw them a few years ago
>mfw

fuck off pitchfork
Opinions on this album?
Pretty good, not my favorite of his though.
>>64192529
Costello is way too patrician for /mu/ because he just writes great music that's well produced and has an interesting and eclectic career marked by professionalism
/mu/ only cares about mainstream indie-shilled crap or surface level "weird" music for status signalling
sorry bud
This Year's Girl is the best song

Literally the only song I know of his thanks to Rock Band. I think that's the only song I want to know of his by the sound of that shit.
Should he just give up reviewing?
Clearly barely even likes music anymore.
He needs to focus more on songwriting and less on production. I watched his gore review and noticed that he barely brought up the disjointed song structures and focused on the angst and production. I got the impression that that was his fall back position on music he doesn't like.
I mean it makes perfect sense that he'd know jack shit about music seeing as how shit tier his own band is.
He needed to quit in 2014. He half asses most of his reviews.
He's become more and more biased through the years and seems to do less and less work around a review now.
I'm not sure if he doesn't care but I do think the whole "You guys know this is just my opinion right?" philosophy got pushed to the point where he's no longer respectable (inb4 >fantano >ever respectable).
Something shifted after 2013 with this guy. And especially in 2015 he was garbage at reviewing.
>he didnt like an album I like
>he should stop reviewing music
Why are you such big faggots? When are you going to understand that no matter what music taste is subjective
>>64192735
In all honesty I thought his TPAB review was spot on
>inb4 go to bed anthony
Watched this documentary the other day since I found there were torrents of it, anyone else seen it? I've always been a bit of a Residents fan and I really liked the documentary, gave me an even greater appreciation for the band and their work.
Also a few Residents songs

I haven't seen it yet but it looks interesting

I found the torrent of it on iptorrents, but I'm sure it can be found elsewhere. I'd definitely recommend looking into it, was entertaining and an interesting look at The Residents and a bit of history on them. Doesn't reveal any identities of course, they just always refer to them as the residents, but I don't doubt some of the members of the cryptic corporation were involved as the Residents.
>mfw /mu/ in its current state
What are some good alternatives?
To keep it music related: what is your favorite artist right now?
/mu/ is good as it is
Young Thug

No it's not, this post-ironic meme shit and shit hop worship needs to fuck off. Bring back 2010-2012 /mu/. Also, shit artist.
HEY. Am I being ignored? Is it because you cannot handle the truth? Bump riiight to the front page, you shits.

The Flaming Lips are playing tonight on Colbert. Are you excited?
>>64191598
Why not?
>>64191575
why would i be excited by a bunch of untalented sellouts who rely on being ""weird"" to appeal to plebs who lack the critical thinking necessary to realize that live acts are just diversions from bad music
