The current problem with /bleep/ is that in recent years there has a new generation of underages posters flocking to 4chan influenced by "ironic" and "cringe" comedy which has become mainstream in internet culture. Because of this, along with a sharp decline in active regulation by janitors and moderators, the quantity of shitposting, "ironic" baiting, idiotic memes, completely obnoxious spamming, inflammatory trolling, and disruptive namefags/tripfags has exponentially increased and the proportion of these low-quality posts to legitimate discussions is shockingly high. Essentially, its completely corrupted /mu/ and its board culture, /bleep/, being on /mu/, has had these sorts of posters slowly seep in and alter the dynamic in these threads. And once that sort of posting behavior is replicated enough, certain other posters will be persuaded that this is acceptable and will join in (ie. group mentality), resulting in very repetitive constant spamming and forced memes in every thread now. Like on /mu/ where most of the current memes/shitposts/trips have become widespread due to shear exposure from constant spamming, with every repetition, this posting behavior becomes more and more engrained in /bleep/ culture.
This doesn't have to be the way things are.
I know most of us are not setting out to ruin things. We've got a lot of love in us for /bleep/, the music, the clubs, the people, the culture. I think most of us want to do the right thing. It's more a question of
will power, self discipline and circumstances.
Seriously, when you post, just be vigilant about whether you're helping maintaining a proper balance of on-topic /bleep/ posts or semi-related tangental posts. Be cognizant of the state of thread and simply ignore/report any inflammatory or disruptively off-topic posts/blemes/shitposts.
Bleeps and bants, not blemes and bait.
It's that simple lads.

Welcome to the weekly /mu/ jazz Blindfold Test thread. Every Friday and Saturday.
If you're new, the point of these threads is to have fun and encourage critical listening, discussion, and general enjoyment of jazz. All critical music listeners are welcome. The more participation we have, the more fun and successful these threads will be. In the interest of keeping the thread alive and bumped, any general jazz discussion is welcomed here as well.

1. This reminds me a little bit of the Larry Young album Into Somethin, probably because of the instrumentation. The music sounds kind of typical hard bop but there’s a weird dissonance on the melody. The saxophonist mostly sounds like he just wants to shred. The guitarist played some cool things though. The organ solo wasn’t great and sounded too far in the background. I remember a few weeks ago Jazzpossu put something by Larry Goldings on his organ week so I’ll guess this is him again on organ. 2.5 stars.
2. That intro was cool but then this turns into kind of...

4. Something different. Sounds more classical almost. I’m not great at identifying string instruments but this seems more like bass than cello. This one is a little bit soundtracky but I like the emphasis on melody and it’s a nice change from the other stuff. It’s very unexpected when the drums come in but I liked it. 4 stars.
5. Starting with a drum solo isn’t usually a winning move for me but then this got cool pretty fast. It feels like there is some Cecil Taylor influence but also a nice melody...

8. This one has a little bit of a call and response thing or something going on that I like. It’s cool when it moves from being so structured right into a very free improv section. But then it switches from that into a post bop swing. I like the sax player. The piano solo is pretty nice too. This one was kind of long but I liked that it kept shifting the feel so that it didn’t get boring. 4 stars.
9. To be honest I spent most of this one waiting for the rest of the band to come in. But then after about...

This is an unknown probably-/mu/tant that posted their music on /r/deathgrips once, but other than that I have never heard anyone talk about them. Seems too good for an unknown project, maybe a more well known producer under an alias? Idk......

from some of their songs like these it makes me think andy morin but other tracks seem too far removed from andy's sensibility (techno and other cool shit) Maybe OPN?

How does a genre built on simple meleody's with honest lyrics, turn so over processed and empty ?
Nashville ground it down to its most marketable and undemanding form and the average Country doesn't care enough to question it.
