Essential psychedelic rock?
Trying to get into it.

10/10 right here

read the sticky
maybe not essential but good none the less
>thinks music is quantifiable
>thinks saying "it's a 7/10" means anything
what's the obsession in current culture to rate things? a friend of mine recently described a social experience as a "5/10 experience" and said that watching an acclaimed movie would probably be at least a "7/10 experience" and therefore more worth it. obviously this is flawed, there are many differences in what it means to watch a good movie alone, and socializing. the positives/negatives aren't quantifiable. the same goes with music. what's the obsession with numbers for things so much more complicated?
>>64561256
I agree with you anon. I don't like the notion of "utility" and that enjoyment should be graded and constrained into a numeral scale. It takes away from the magic of the experience. You also have good taste in girls.
>>64561256
numbers should always follow a detailed review of the music
the numbers are for dumb people who can't read and for people who want to rank music by quality

4/10 post
Does juke/footwork have any actual crossover or mainstream potential?
>>64561198
Start having more features by rappers and maybe. I think the sample repition is a little too much for most people too.
it died with rashad
>>64561198
the most potential it has for the "mainstream" is probably just on a commercial
but this

What does /mu/ think of David Bowie's Space Oddity?
Not a fan, the whole album kinda feels rushed, definitely not his best tbf
>>64561193
What would you say was his best piece?
THE SUN MACHINE IS COMING DOWN

ITT: Side B > Side A
>>64561125
That's just flat out wrong. Codex is the best song on the album though.
>>64561125

So /mu/, I gotta do an essay on AESTHETICS and I thought?
>well, what can better than evaluating the æsthetic value of this masterpiece?
thought?
Should I kmc?
Should I analyse other album instead of this?
is vaporwave dead?
All your questions will be answered soon, on my next thread
>>64560893
This album can be viewed from a lot of different stand points.
>this album somewhat contributed to the rebirth of 80's funk and synthpop in other words brought the community a little closer and brought in a younger generation
>the concept of blatantly using samples without said permission from the original publisher and not really paying any credit.
>The idea that the original performers that did the recordings to the songs that were used without permission may have even less rights to the song than the remixer or vaporwave artist
>The idea that marketing teams in their campaign approaches move from concept to concept so fast that they may have left several years of marketing material which include : aesthetics, phrases, and other artistic concepts behind and it is all being recycled at this time,
>is vaporwave dead? don't ever ask a listener ask a composer
>>64560893
Don't just do that though, do vaporwave as a broad spread so you can include more things. You can talk about how the aesthetics unite each one but their message differ etc.
>>64561478
>>is vaporwave dead? don't ever ask a listener ask a composer
but how would I ask them?
what composers should I listen to if I like the string part (especially from 2:02 to 2:28) in Burn the Witch?

Yeah, I could see that being embarassing in that sort of situation.
Not a bad song though, but only 3rd best Monogatari OP.
Is there any rap today that can compare to Eminems Curtain Call or his MM LP?
