I really like any genre or flavor, here are some of my favorite bands: Ancestors, Faith No More, Primus, Between the Buried and Me, Egypt, Sleep, WitTR, Lanthlos, Jesu, Fen, early Dream Theater, Cynic, Beyond Creation, Soundgarden, Coheed and Cambria, Dog Fashion Disco, Olde Growth, Porcupine Tree, TesseracT, True Widow

Beyond Creation is some sick shit im seeing them in sanfran, sounds like you like some prog i recommend trying out opeth or gorjira
Mercyful Fate is pretty good, along with King Diamond's solo albums

Jesus Christ, the whole Hybrid Theory EP is just incredible. Their LP Underground albums are all fantastic too.
