MUH HEART!
Haha, wow! Poptimism has actually, with absolute fucking sincerity, gone too far! Wow! And y'know, I wouldn't mind you people if you simply stuck to "discussing" such vapid, mainstream top 40 pop on appropriately mainstream websites, but you don't! You come here, HERE, to 4chan to vicariously satisfy you ill-conceived desire to be counter-culture! You come here so you can feel as though you're on the "bleeding, cutting edge" of culture and society, all while doing appreciating nothing, doing nothing, and holistically resembling nothing...

why do feminist like the ukulele? I'm not talking about women here in general but third wave feminist like shitty music like Maria and the Diamond, Florence the Machine, you know generic indie pop music. Why is it like most of them have awful, shit taste.

Oh great, another wave of shilling from this fucking guy.
That first record was essentially a trend-hop shilled until reddit thought it was a masterpiece. Even had the perfect pandering aspects like "muh dystopia" "muh vinyl".
Please fuck off.

Is there a patrician version of Cheap Trick? I love their sound but not their songs.
Cheap Trick are sort of the patrician version of bands like REO Speedwagon and Boston. I don't know who would be the patrician version of Cheap Trick.
>>65035508
Don't compare REO Speedway on to Boston, pic related is GOAT and they are in the same category as cheap trick.
>>65035436
I would say Big Star, but I like them equally.
>>65035508
Cheap Trick's melodies sound very weird to me, they sound incredibly amateur and lame despite always hanging on the edge of being good. Their only song with a good hook IMO is If You Want My Love. Surrender too, but less so.
I was thinking more of these raw vocals bordering on glam metal mixed with pure pop goodness.
Hey /mu/ I started a thread yesterday looking for recs for a 13 hour drive I've got in few hours. I'm thinking about listening to a good bit of free jazz & some noise and got great recs yesterday hoping to get some more today. Doesn't have to be free jazz or noise so any and all recs will do I am very desperate
Herbie Hancock's album Sextant has some grooves and inventive use of primitive synths. Important piece of music

I think it's probably a coincedence but I also thought the 'do-do-dos' in Caterpillar by The Cure (at 0:33):

were probably the basis of the chorus to Surfwax America (also at 0:33):
