***READ THE GUIDE***

For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, dont make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

So we're approaching June, and I realized that means we're almost halfway through the year. How about we post what we've worked on in the last five months and how you feel about it?

>RE/100 Efreet Custom
I had no experience with the RE/100 line, and I always wanted an Efreet kit, so I grabbed this guy on a whim. Neat polycaps with this kit.
>HG 1/144 Heavy Arms Custom
Very much a WIP still, mods include some pla-plate for larger heels to the feet, some pla-plate on the arms so it can use Jigen Build Knuckles instead of those old polycap hands, and a redone shoulder mechanism from a 0083 GM kit.

>ShenShouGazer Gundam
Really pleased at how well this came out. Still need to do some masking cleanup on the torso/arms, as well as finishing that fan I made for it, but other than that It's pretty much done.

>Gerbera Ziel
Still a WIP like the Heavy-Arms, but this is closer to getting painted up. Need to buy a second Gerbera Tetra though since I hamhanded like 3 parts trying to disassemble it for sanding.

>Nu-Batos
The IBO line is loads of fun, but I never really liked the Barbatos's colorscheme OOB. This took me like a day to do and I'm really pleased as to how it came out.

>Zaku II FZ
This guy was just fodder for trying out topcoating an OoB kit with a flat coat. Really liked how it came out, but I probably should've polished the nubs better in certain areas.

>Graze Ein
I knew day one after IBO 24 aired I needed a waifu destroyer on my desk, and grabbed him up to snap away. The pile bunkers feel lacking, but they do their job. Kinda tempted to try painting it in Sazabi colors to go with the Nubatos.

>HGUC Banshee Unicorn Mode
Built the kit a couple of years ago, but just recently started painting all of the dark blue to white. Won't finish it any time soon since I'm in a different state now.
>HG G-Lucifer
Love the color scheme and enjoyed panel lining it.
>HGBF Tryon 3
Broke part of one of the horns when removing it from the runner. Luckily it remained attached. The lion is the only constituent that looks good alone.
>HGUC V2
Only bought it because I had the V-Dash. Don't really care for the design or colors.
>MG Infinite Justice
Colors look much better in person and it has more weapons/beam parts than I would know what to do with. Despite this, I don't really care for any of the included weapons.
>HG Graze Custom
Best Graze variant even considering its successors, and I like the green more than expected; very solid and a great value for the price. My only complaints are the loose neck joint and the lack of additional hands.
>1/100 Gusion + Rebake
Bought it for the Rebake and am impressed with the inner frame, stability, and mobility. Feels sturdier than many Master Grades, and I like how it makes you build and appreciate the inner frame first. I wouldn't mind getting more non-MG 1/100 kits in the future. The only omitted detailing I feel inclined to paint is the white on the shield. Plenty of nice panel lining opportunities as well. The original Gusion looks nice too, and the parts come off of the frame easily enough to allow for swapping without much hassle.

The Rebake does have weight issues with the binders for the extra arms, and more than four hands/two hand covers for each would have been nice, even if you're only expected to build one at a time. The overall value is admittedly low since one would have to scavenge and modify an inner frame from another kit in order to have both variants displayed at once. The issue is further exacerbated by how much of the Gusion that can be built without the few pieces that are missing.
>>
>>14267786
>Gusion
Solid turtle, best turtle. The surface detail on him is great, and that really made me appreciate the build.
>Grimgerde
A little bit floppier than I'd like but despite a piece of leg armor coming off every now and again, solid kit. Love the Valkyrie motif and the dual swords-shields gimmick.
>Virtue
Muh fatboy. Just as solid as I imagined and one of those 00 designs that don't really suffer from the somewhat antiquated engineering they were going through at the time. Love the backpack and the GN Bazooka though, overall solid kit.
>Raphael
Muh not fatboy is a little less full of love though, the backpack/headpack is just as brick-y as I imagined, and he's about 70% leg. Still, it's neat to see the engineering evolve, and though I might use him for parts some day for now I'm pretty satisfied as is. Although the feet stickers trigger me.
>God Gundam
His age shows, I can't look at him without sighing at the fact that his head is built into the torso and the ways his articulation is limited, along with the color seperation at some parts.
I still love the design though and the core booster being able to come out is a neat gimmick- though somewhat unexpected.
>RG Exia
God, I fucked up. I accidentally one of the arm nubs for the stupid clear film bits, but I have the R3 conversion coming in shortly so that'll be a nonissue soon, and I can display him a bit more proudly.
>Carta Graze
I love that it came with the regular graze parts, which was part of why I ordered it. I haven't figured out a configuration I like above all else but I'm considering an asymmetric one. I have strapped six boosters to it in the meanwhile.
>Leopard Da Vinci
He still needs his weapon pack finished but I really enjoyed this build and the color separation. The one shortcoming he has is that godawful red sticker for his chest, like Bandai PLEASE. Still a great kit and a great design though, I really appreciate all the hardpoints they gave us.

man cause the original Zaku III is so old I wish they would have. maybe with the 0096 RE anime thing, we'll get Zaku III UC version.
>>
>>14268260
That would be why I say that. They could have just ignored it again, but instead they Pbandai'd it so that it's basically risk free and they make some extra money off all the engineering and time they invested in the Impulse frame.
Watch sword be a regular release.

- the 1/100 kit is shit
- It will probably never get a MG
- if it does, you can be sure as hell it will be a web exclusive and half assed
- the MB is simply put, the best release the gold frame will ever get

>>14267786

I just got into gunpla two months ago, but I'll try to go over them all in order

>Blue Space Jam
It was nothing stellar, but the experience was enough to encourage be to try out other kits and descend into the depths of this crack addiction.

>Hyakuri
I really liked this kit. It was the first one I attempted with an actual nipper instead of a nail clipper, so it went a lot smoother. I wish it could stand better without the base, but that's my only real complaint.

>Hyakuren
I really liked the design of this one, but the hip armor and knuckle dusters pop off at the slightest breeze.

>Origin Char Zaku
This kit was easily three times better than the others. It was my first time sanding, so it looks far better than the others.

>Hi-Zack
Nothing surprising here, just a first attempt at top coating and panel lining.

>Origin Test Dom
I cut the lining around its head literal seconds after starting it, but managed to fix it. Decent kit.

>Hambrabi
I wish it had better articulation on the legs and arms, but it violates just fine.

>Jesta Cannon
It's a damn sin that the mg is only available as a P-Bandai. It's easily my favorite HG, from the design to the accessories.

>MG Ez-8
First MG. This things poses much better than I expected an old kit to be able to, and I like the look of it. After I work out a good color scheme, I'm going to paint and panel it.

>Gouf R35
My first painting project. I can already tell that it won't be pretty, but I've learned a lot. Plus the gun-shields look great with some darker blues and grey.

All in all, it's been a good ride. I just ordered an RG Mk II and have a decent backlog, so I can probably slow down a bit.

Man, your GM is too perfect.
>>
>>14268501
I don't hate it per se but I am pretty disappointed in them. The updated aesthetic and proportions resonate with me, but the even worse color separation (in comparison with the BBSenshi line) the lackluster gimmicks (combine it with your hg vs a transforming unicorn) and the hollow parts (this is the worst offender) really seal the deal for the EX-S line.
I can say honestly that I saw a lot of hype pre-reveal but just about the same reaction post reveal.
>>
>>14268501
They're kind of a step back for SD kits. Color separation is worse in many cases, and many of the parts are hollow. The proportions are also slightly different, for better or worse depending on taste. The only real pros are the lower price and better articulation for some of them, but I can't say I've ever purchased SD kits for articulation.
>>
>>14268114
To be fair, everyone hates Blast.
Gimme an HG Destiny Impulse.
>>
>>14267786
I started building in January, still a snapfag and haven't built anything but HGs, but in order (I think)

>HG Turn A
I messed up a bit and gouged and nearly broke quite a few pieces, but all in all I was satisfied with it. I really like the design and the series, which is why I got it to be my first one. I'm not too keen on the limited articulation, but it does its job reasonably well

>HG Victory Two Assault Buster
Honestly, I like it but it also has limited articulation/not very mobile or posable without an Action base. I had to remove all the Assault Buster parts and just make it into the standard Victory Two because I didn't like them, in the end. Again, I like the design, and it's from my favourite series

>HG Gundam Mark II Revive
I really like the quality on it, and it was the first kit I did panel lining on (went back to touch up the previous two) and for a bit it was my best work. The Mark II is again one of my favourite designs, but with this one I really have an issue with the leg joints. They feel too loose, and it's arduous to get the legs aligned and in a good pose. It might be due to an error on my part, but it's slightly annoying.

>HG Zaku I Sniper
Nice kit, like it quite a bit. Not a range of poses to be done with the large rifle, but decent enough.

>HG Kimaris
I liked Gali-Gali so I got it, and apart from the way too heavy lance, it's also quite nice. Has quite a bit of surface detail and it looks good.

>HG Hizack
It's one of the older kits and it shows, and my main issue is lack of colour separation and lack of seals to correct it. I'm going to fix it one day, but it was slightly disappointing.

>HG G-Self Perfect Pack
Biggest case of buyers remorse. Don't know why I got it but I wish I didn't, I just have too many things I don't like about the model, despite liking the design and show.

>HG Freedom Revive
I really like the Freedom, so I was pleased with this. I messed up the V-fin and snapped it, because I trimmed the safety nubs on them incorrectly. I also utterly failed doing the sticker placement on the side-skirt railguns, so one of them doesn't have one anymore because the adhesive completely dissolved.

>HG Victory Dash
Like the V2 Assault Buster, I didn't like the optional parts, so I just have it in its standard form. Very solid kit though, I quite like it. Possibly my favourite one over all. I sanded a few parts too roughly, and it kind of shows.

>HG Graze
Very solid and good looking, and while I wasn't too impressed with the Graze in the show at first, I warmed up to it. Very easy to build and to panel line, my only complaint is the gating was actually quite poor and bad in a lot of places. But I didn't make any errors with it, except accidentally scratch the face a bit. Fixed it with some sanding it away, but it made me annoyed at myself.

>HG Schwalbe Graze
I said this a few threads back, but I thought I liked the design more than I actually did, and it suffered from a few annoying gate placements like the normal Graze. Fun to panel line though. I snapped the horn and fixed it with some plastic cement, it doesn't look great even with sanding but it's not too noticeable.

>HG GM Custom
Cheating because it's still a WIP, but I've got the entire upper body and arms finished so far. I like the decals they gave, but I went a bit overboard with them. There isn't a marking guide for it so it's a free-for-all really, and I kind of regret the placement of some of them, wish I could change them. It looks really good though, especially with panel lining.

And this is what I plan to build over the next 7 months that's in my backlog
>HG Hi-Nu Gundam
>HG Wing Gundam
>HG Graze Kai
>HG Ryusei-Go
>HG Barbatos 6th Form
>HG RX-78-2 Revive
>HG Fenice Rinascita
>HG Graze Ritter
>MG Zeta Gundam 2.0

Yeah, there's just something "off" about it. I was satisfied with the end result of the Graze and almost every other kit save the G-Self, but this one just didn't do it for me.

So far, this whole year has been a learning experience for me. Each kit I've built has been trying something new.

>RG Wing Gundam EW
Basically a snap build with panel lining and matte top coat. I'd built the Wing Zero EW last year, so it wasn't a new experience to me, but the new wings were fun to build.

>BB Senshi God Gundam
This is a kit I've wanted ever since I started building gunpla, and it really lived up to the hype. It has unique connections for the hips, which gives it better leg articulation than other SDs. For this kit, I used the stickers that were provided, and painted everything else that wasn't molded in the correct colors.

>HG G-Self Assault Pack
This was the first gunpla I built that I didn't use any stickers on. All of the details are painted in, both parts that came with stickers, and parts that didn't. Everything else is plastic.

>MG Jesta
This is far and away my favorite MG. The engineering that went into it is fantastic. This was the first kit I built that I did any sort of customization on. I painted the yellow parts gold, as well as the insides of the vents and thrusters. I also painted the detail part under the visor silver, and attached a piece of clear red plastic to the monoeye. There's silver dry brushed onto the kit, as well.

>HG Gundam X
Another kit that I used no stickers on. Just like the Assault Pack and the Jesta, all the details are painted in. This was also my first time using masking tape, so I was able to add more custom colors on it.

>SD Knight Gundam
My first fully-repainted kit. For this one, I used primer and spray paints, and recolored the entire kit. I also made a fabric cape for it, and changed the color of the jewel on the sword hilt by replacing it with blue rhinestones.

>HG Beargguy III
This was a speed challenge with a friend. We each completed separate custom colored Beargguys in under seven hours.
>>
Bandai really needs to make builder parts, not just option kits. Balden arm arms has the right idea but to much extra junk The leg and arm joints could have been there own set, the ball joint stuff and campaign connection stuff could be another. Damn wish I had more ball peg joints, use it in a lot of kit bashes and customs.
>>
>>14268670
How fucked you are is proportionate to how important the pegs are and how "over filed" they are.
Which pegs and to what degree did you fuck them?

I only got into gunpla last month so there is not a lot for me to show, however:

>HG Banshee
Just an OOB build to start with. It doesn't have nubs on it and it's panel lined, but other than that it's just plain. Still it's my first and I'm really happy with the result.

>HG Geara Zulu
Just finished building this. I'm going to disassemble it tomorrow and I'll start painting it. It's going to be my first paint job, but I'm looking forward to the result. WIP

Got some more kits ready to be build after this, but there is no progress on those yet. We'll look back in another 6 months.

spare parts for kit bashes woo!

But seriously now I can tinker with kit bashes and simple custom variants that if I mess up dont bother me to much. I can use one shoulder, trim and sand the inside of the spikes to make zaku and zaku 2 units seen in manga and 08th if I want. Buuuut my backlog is huge and growing. Im kinda glad most of the announcements this hobby show were meh. The only must haves right now is the msv ibo kit and local gundam type.
>>
>>14267786
Alright.

>HG Vahchuu
Perhaps my favorite suit from 00.
Good kit honestly. Only complaint is that you have to position the GN Bazooka ever so carefully or it will sag,
>HG GM III
Good. Maybe a little constricted on the range of motion for the arms, but good.
>GN Archer-chan
Perfect in every way!
Surprisingly, balance is not an issue.
>O Gundam, parade colors
Shit ankles, but a good kit and my favorite RX-78-2.
>HG Schwable Graze
See >>14268583
>RG Destiny
Well, I got its feet done so far. I'm being really patient and meticulous with the sanding.

I really haven't had much time to devote to kits (or muh 40Kshit) this year and with the exclusion of maybe two or three suits that have been high on the wishlist, I think I'm just gonna keep plowin' on my backlog.

Quick questions for those who might have hands on experience:
Is the ECOAS Jegan good?
What's the build quality of the Zudah?
How bad is the PPG-Self? Snapcunt, you need not respond.

Ecoas Jegan is a recolor with a new head, old engineering and all.
Zudah is also an older kit but keeps up fairly well. Balljoint legs and pegjoint arms but they don't seem to restrict movement too much.
I don't have either of these kits yet but I've looked over scans and reviews, so I hope this helps a bit.

I've built the original HGUC JEgan, but haven't put together my ECOAS Jegan. Like >>14268752 said, it has the same engineering, but it has a few new pieces, mainly the forehead visor cover that has a raised and lowered piece, and the chest has additional armor. Also the waist armor is in the darker brown, so you'll need to paint it to match the lighter bits.
>>

All I've actually finished this year. I've been working on other stuff on and off but haven't committed to and finished anything else yet.

Gourai was a pain in the ass. Not so much because of the model itself but because I kept having the worst luck and fucking up all throughout the paint process. Otherwise my only complaint with it is the elbow joints are super tight and mine ended up cracking when I reassembled after painting (And the pegs had been masked off so their was no paint to thicken them. It seems to be a common problem and it is heavily advised that you sand down the joint pegs a little if you get a FAG.

The Red warrior GM is actually a re-attempt at a attempted custom from last year that I fucked up the topcoats on and had to strip and repaint.

The Panzer IV is one of the GuP kits which means it's just a re-box of another brand with new decals tossed in, in this case Dragon. The kit itself was exceptionally nice and went together easily and had plenty of nice detail. Probably the kit I'm most proud of how it turned out this year so far.

The Graze Custom was something I was itching to build and paint up. I did a really minor mod to the backpack and stuck the Ezsr boosters on it. I also removed some parts from the gun and added a little magazine to it because I don't like the way the graze rifle usually looks. I think the paint on him came out pretty nice.

Overall I think I'm starting to get the hang of this shading/highlighting thing finally.
>>
>>14267786
Well, here we go...

>MG GM Ground Sniper

Still WIP, bun can i say its a fun and beautiful kit at the cheap price, loads of weapons, and good detail. Sniper hose can be alot of headache cause it will pop constantly off the bacpack, so need a workout.

>HGTO Zaku high mobility type BTS

I thought it will be a bit dissapointing by $23 but holy shit, this shit is one wonderful hg kit. Nice weapons, options, and customisations, also dem detail in peski HG kit. I kinda don't like the colour scheme but thats just me.

>HG Gushion Rebake

I just finish it yesterday night, so what can i say? A good kit at their price, fast to built to at 70 minutes, but a bit lack in technical departement. But what can i say at dirtcheap kit? It still really good output and its fun to play at.
Waiting for gushion to kitbash both.

>Thunderbolt FAG bootleg

I got it after the original one gone from the market. Its still good and 11:12 quality compared to the original, some solid articulation, the snap is fit. But yeah, much press marks.

Now still waiting for my Sazabi ver ka, but also think to take kimaris for fun.

Sure. One could also just paint the color inaccurate areas. The point was that SD kits seemed to be moving past that for the most part. I respect the continued existence of cheap kits that one has to put more work into, but I'd also like to see the advancement of the style as well.

Apparently there's been a BB Senshi Barbatos announced, so the idea has not been abandoned outside of the Legend kits.
>>
Whats P-bandai?
>>
>>14267786

Let's see, I've worked on quite a few kits since January, and I'm happy to say I've improved a lot since I started participating in these threads. I guess I'll go down the ones I remember.

>Carta's Ritter (3 total, including the two grunts)
This is what got me to even consider buying IBO kits. I just really like the little details and all the fun things that it has built into it. I do have to say the Graze leg armor does have that gross looking seam, bit all in all I really like how they look.

>Gusion Rebake
What can I say, I love multi-limbed things. It had quite a few things that needed painting, but overall it's a pretty great kit. The two heads were kind of annoying, especially with all the painting, but what can I say, it's an HG afterall.

> Barbatos Forms 2-6 (6 total)
I really do enjoy the IBO kits, the Barbatos especially. I thought I would go in liking the Gusion Rebake more, but the Barbatos has grown on me. I especially like the head and v-fin. Can't really think of anything that I really disliked about it, to be honest.

>Kutan-III
It was a fun build, not as big as the GN Arms, which is what I was hoping for, but it wasn't worth a $100 or anything. It was a mobile armor weapon thing, and that's what I got.

>Schwalbe Graze
My first actual painting project, and I think it turned out really well, for a first time at least. I really love the head, and the way the face looks on the outside. Kinda wish the other grazes had the orb eye like it had.

> HGUC Jegan
I love the Jegan, but it does have a dated feel to the kit. At least it's not as bad as the old HG's. That and I wish more of the HGUC's would come with the water slides. I mean, the Ground War Set did.

How did I build 13 kits so far? Good thing I have disposable income to afford this plastic crack.

>MG Sinanju Stein ver Ka
My first ver Ka kit and probably one of my favorite kits I have so far, although the right hand is broken (fuck 3.0 hands) and a few pieces went flying off into oblivion on me. Overall a great build.
>HG Try Burning
It was half off. I wasn't particularly impressed with it, but I had a good time putting it together.
>MG Fenice Rinascita
WIP enjoying it so far, but I mistook a fucking connection point on the arm mounts for a fucking nub and cut it far too low. Probably either going to cement the parts together for that spot, or try to plastic weld the connection back on or the parts together.

I've got an MG Exia Amazing on my backlog, waiting to learn how to paint because I do not like those neon green transparent parts and the shade of blue bothers me.
>>
>>14269413
I wish I had all the parts for it just to have an Airmaster Burst. I also snagged a 1/100 Vigna Zirah at the same yard sale, I need to paint it in the future.
>>
>>14269432
The Rinascita is garbage in disguise.

It looks really pretty, but the flexibility is complete trash.

Good luck getting it to hold its weapons in any way near how you like.

It all depends. Like, I work 8-4 every day, and have a generic deskjob, so when I get home, I'm still full of energy to put together and paint plastic, but back when I worked retail, if I worked, I wouldn't have any energy to put Gundam together. Trade off was that I had more hours in teh week to actually work on the Gundam, since I didn't have such a rigid work schedule. Also, I didn't have as much money to buy Gunpla as I do now. It all depends on where you end up working, how much you make, and how energy intense it is.

Seam putty.png
1 MB, 1198x624
Hi /m/. I am readying parts for a first paint project, seam welding also being a new experience. Mind giving me some info on something I'm confused about?

When applying putty I used a paperclip originally but then used a putty spatula because the paperclip didn't exactly overlap the seam line and I felt it should be fully encompassed. Does this seem like proper technique or is only precision with a smaller item worth my time? One piece has putty left on it,the other is after sanding it back down mostly.

Now that I'm sanding the putty down, is it better to fully sand it (like the front) or leave a line of putty running down the seam line like is slight portions of the back? Did I undo my previous work by not having the putty left on only the seam, basically.

I watched videos but couldn't really see what's best for this, they just said "use cement, then putty it, then sand and prime and repeat until done" without detail. Sorry for potato pictures and blogshit.
>>
>>14269449
I got it because of how it looks, and the fact I like the Rinascita. Not surprised that it has issues holding weapons. As long as it holds them better than the MG Wing Zero EW, because I dread moving that thing because it can't hold the TBR in either normal or split configuration. Fuck the hands on it. I'm probably going to get a hold of the MG Gundam The Origin, MG Jesta, MG Sinanju Animation color ver (More Bazookas), MB Gold Frame, or the MG 00 Quanta. I have an issue with wanting MGs.

In that same RG, I had the ring that connect the rifle scope into rifle body broke because I put it in wrong angle, giving it unnecessary tension over time.

Maybe in your case there's a correct or safe angle/direction to attach/detach and you're just slightly off.

apologies in advance for phone quality photos

I'm still p. newbie but I'm pretty happy with how my Graze Ritter came out. My question is about painting the sword - will paint markers do? I know they're not great for a variety of reasons, but is this a reasonable application for them?
I was leaning towards these:

Can anyone vouch for them, or steer me away from certain doom?

Great, really easy to use. and easy to clean if you mess up.
I guessed going down to the dollar store and getting more of those makeup sponges.

I suggest watching a video. The are used for weathering, but can also be used for shading.

>>14268635
They work fine on non-painted parts. I almost never paint the white parts of Gundams.
>>
So I didn't do preshading, because I'm lazy. If I plan to do post shading with a real touch marker should I do it before or after I apply the decals?

Also how well do the blending and eraser pens work for those?

>HG 00
first real test with glow paint on a model. Works great for that particle look. Needs a proper repaint.

>HG Kshatriya
Added an LED in the chest to create the glowing psycho frame cockpit and the glow in the mono eye. Need to better mount the battery. Been lazy about it.

>MG Banshee
Snap built with lots of sanding. Eventually gonna swap the inner frame for the Unicorn one and base its colors more on an Okami character. Pissed that the left hip joint is so loose, and fucked up a part on the right knee.

>NG Freedom
Doing an LED mod for the thrusters. Have not finished. Not thrilled about doing the backpack part.

It was my first Acen, and I was surprised at the amount of Gundam being pushed at it. Most cons I've gone to barely have anything besides a handful of designated dealers selling kits. Then again, I'm from the east coast and this was my first Acen, so I don't know how prevelant it is over there.

Also, that's the MG Cannon right? I have one, and am a little disappointed in the ham hands.

>>14270534
Don't do markers. Get metallic silver and gold. It'll look way better than some markers, since there's a lot more surface area than on panel lines or touch up dings. I use GW paints, so I'm not too sure on what Vallejo or any other brands have for metallics.

Better look at the chest area close up. The LED is actually pretty bright, but I was shit in mounting the battery, so its a bit more dim here. Did the mono eye using fiber optics strung up beneath the head's skirt, over the axis of the neck, and through the eye piece. Need to fix it though, since some of the strands got pulled out when mounting the head, so there is a dark spot in the eye.

Here is pic of my fuck up. Are there any fixes for the armor that should go on the pegs?
>>
>>14270922
Sorry I left you hanging last night but I figured it was about this bad. The short of it is that you made the largest most colossal fuck up possible.
You were bound to do it at some point though, almost all of us have I'm sure.
the best way you can fix it is to get some sprue in the same size as the peg (test it by pressing it into the hole, sand it down until it slides in but not so much that it doesn't hold) and then adhere them to the leg.
Now since it's the inner frame portion be cautious with what you adhere it with, test on spare runner first as ABS plastic is notoriously fragile. Any glue or what not you intend to use, apply on a spare piece of the runner and wait no less than a day to see if there are any reactions. The last thing you want is this colossal fuck up to snowball into true unfixable FUCK.
Godspeed anon, I wish you the best.
>>
>>14270917
Alright, I'll drop the markers and look into actual painting.

Good news friend, many MANY AGE kits are getting reprinted next month. I didn't see any preorders up for Legilis but that doesn't mean it's not happening.
It just means they expect that demand will be low enough that a standard restock will do, like the Astraeas in last month's restock

If you do go for the glue just make sure you set it up for success with some kind of prop so it doesn't slide out of place or some shit.

>PG Unicorn w/ LED
Christmas gift from the GF. As mostly a HG builder for the past few years this definitely was a step up in both challenge and product. Its large, amazing, and has tons of shit to fiddle with. Panel lined and top coated to really make it shine. used the provided stickers but I am thinking of getting the chinese final battle parts and waterslides to really make it a serous presence. Sexy Desklamp too.

>Koto Metal Gear Rex
First time working with non bandai kit. Definite difference in the plastic and sprue layout. kind of a pain to assemble and the coloring is really lacking without a paintjob. IN order to truly do this justice ill need to wait until I get my airbrush. This may be the only metal gear kit I buy since im not a super fan of RAY and Sally is an expensive piece of shit looking disappointment.

>HG The ORIGIN Char's Zaku II
All my fucking boners, just as much the definitive HG as the MG 2.0 is for the MG line. All dem awesome panel lines and giant fucking gun. I will definitely buy a few regular Zaku II's in the future.

>RG Gundam MKII Titans (x2)
Ive done a few RG before but not only is this my favorite suit it also my favorite suit of the RG line. Im in love with the armor options and the color separation. Was Originally planning on making all 3 MKII's but plans changed as you will see below. I've had it built for months but I still mess around with it ever few days, just in love with this kit 100%

>RG Barzam Refined (MKII retrofit Kit)
Got this from ebay and waited like 2 months for it. Was a bit apprehensive at first due to the new look of the barzam refined for me but its really grown on me. Construction wise pretty every part needed to be cemented/glued onto the RG frame so no going back now. Im actually pretty happy with the outcome and it'll stand with my other titan kits like a badass.

If he didn't give you a fedex tracking thing he probably never sent it.
I've not heard of anything bad about him save that his prices are a little bit on the higher side, and like I said my transaction went fine.

>NG Devil Gundam
Same as the rest of the NG G Gundams, empty and souless. Since its the only Devil kit im mostly done with seam welding and prep paining. I will add some build fighter pats to make it truly terrifying , maybe make a final battle diorama with my HG God Gundam.

>HG Shining Gundam
Nice range of motion, super awesome hands. Leaps and bounds better than the old NG. Just got it for completion purposes. Still inferior to God in mechanical terms

>Star Build Strike w/ magical jesus wings
For a seed inspired kit I actually dont hate it. Pretty good for a cheap kit and it doesnt look horrible. Wont banish it to the box anytime soon.

>Build MK II
Uses the old as fuck MKII mold. I love the suit but hate the fucking kit. May graft the Build parts onto the revive so it will be less shit. I regret this purchase to this day.

>HG Graze
Have not seen seen IBO yet but this kit it pretty sexy looking. cheap, green, its moves abit. I am Satisfied.

>HG Grimgerde
BONER BONER. Nice aesthetic, same as the graze. Sexy red and swords. Visually comparable with the tallgeese so its currently being turned into a grimgoose. Stupid sexy gundam.

>HG Mega Shiki
Also sexy as fuck. Love the base kit and the added bulk and edges make it appealing. massive guns and binders lend itself well but it doesnt have much mobility. Primed and prepped for being turned into a gila shiki (GOLDDDD)

>RG Gundam Wing EW
NIce RG kit, slim and lots of panel lines. IM favorable to the color separation. looks nice as a display kit, idk if its just mine but the hand has a hard time with the gun and the shoulder armor keeps popping off. I'm going to keep mine as a look dont touch kind of thing.

>NG Tallgeese III
All white, utterly disappointing except for the accessories. Its 100% parts donor to the grimgoose. Comes with the pieces for I and II tho which is nice. other than that utter shit.

Cool, I'll see if I can hit up the Laurel store on my way up next time. Thanks for the heads up!

Also, if you're ever down south on 495, there is a store in Annandale and Centreville named Lilthingamajigs. They have a pretty good selection of Gunpla from SD to PG's. A little stingy, but there are some gems, like I managed to get the Unicorn Destroy WITH the head display for $27. You get a 20% discount on any kit over $25, but idk if that's just their way to mark things up, and sell it at a regular price. Still a good place if you want something now, rather than having to wait a while for a delivery.

I've taken apart and reassembled RG kits numerous times and I feel the shoulder clips are the least likely place for something to break. Like, if it isn't fitting don't force it in. How hard is it?
>>
>>14271809
Obviously I don't force it. It just happens. Only way to fit it on is to slide it down, correct? That puts a bit of tension on the "arms" of the piece until it gets into the correct place. Doing this a few times can weaken a piece.

I don't really like IBO but will I like making the 1/100 Barbatos since it's one of the cheapest 1/100 scale models I've seen?
>>
>>14271883
Yeah, but if it's not specified that the safety nubs out to be cut, the guy commissioned to do it probably won't.
Besides, even if it is custom and commissioned, I find it very slightly absurd to be paying $100 for a HG, seeing as though they're the only ones AFAIK that come with safety flags
>>
>>14271888
It's a nice kit. One of the reasons it's cheap is that it isn't technically a MG and is simpler than them in several areas (Like the hands).

Also be aware that the regular 1/100 barbatos doesn't come with the mace.

And if you aren't a fan then why buy it just because it's cheap? Save up and get something you actually want.
>>
>>14271883
There's some cheaps MGs, like the Zaku 2.0, or the Ball. Even the RX-78-2 3.0 or the Origin version can easily be found around 40€. Better save up than do a kit you're not really interested in.
