Better than the first episode and I liked that one a lot. They've set up the basics themes of animalistic nature vs human ones quite well. What I was worried about is all the characters being edgy in a bad way but they seem to have struck it pretty well where they seem pretty human. I hope Moleuru is alive so he can become the third rider, mole is amazon's friend after all. Look like he did die though

The reason he is more square with defined lines is he is in contrast to Alpha who is a wild animal. On the other hand Omega has been kept in a cage and we saw this episode how it was explained he was basically domesticated. This seems weird early on as he acts more wild but we see by next episode he is fighting with the exterminators so is under control. The show really needs more bright colours especially cause when it is grey on grey everything just blends in.
I think it is a very good take on modernising the design. In previews he looked a bit odd but they framed the mask a lot better here

Funny enough, that's exactly how the Forced Evolutionary Virus from Fallout came into being. The U.S. government created a biological weapon called Blue Flu in order to cripple/eradicate the Chinese (the thing basically created hyper-flu symptoms that royally fucked you to death - and those who survived became sterile). A Chinese spy made it into their research base, got a sample, and was shot while escaping and an epidemic was released across a large portion of the States.
The researchers trying to find a counter-measure to the Blue Flu wound up creating the FEV originally as a means to bolster the human immune system, only for it to have the adverse effects of causing the test subjects to Hulk the fuck out. The military saw promise in this, and took over the FEV project and turned it into one of their little off-the-books operations.
Wouldn't be the first time in fiction where the cure turned out to fuck everyone and then get hijacked by the military, in other words.

You know, when TV-nihon subbed the 90 second trailer in that scene when one that female mercenary remarked that he looked like a grasshopper, but was corrected as "another new amazon" since mata and bata sounded similar. Although with the design and difference of the boots and gloves of Omega and helmet of his rider form does seem to resemble more of a Grasshopper instead of a lizard compared to Alpha.

- Alpha is said to be able to handle rank "B" Amazons easily.
- Amazons get stronger after feeding on human.
- Amazon Drive is just a boosting device to increase Amazon abilities.
So when rank "A" Amazons show up Alpha and Omega will be facing a completely different game. In order to keep themselves in the race they will need to at least eat someone.
Also the smell of rank "S" is too heavy in this one, though official says there are only rank A ~ D Amazons in the record.

The belt is obviously some sort of regulatory device, like the armlet but less shitty. Jin's girl even says "this will make you stronger" when she gives it to Haruka. I'm not bothered by him having to mess with it to trigger certain powers. It wasn't even really a proper finisher, is just beefed up the spines on his arms to weaponize them, which you could look at as selective evolution or a controlled enhancement.
