Why is it that Kamen Rider and Sentai aren't held in such high regard in Japan?
There are some actors who really disregard it as childish nonsense (like Kuuga's actor) or there are some who, while they enjoyed being a part of it, it would be considered career suicide if they went back to it since obtaining bigger projects (like Fourze's actor). Or you have the actors who don't do much nowadays and just join again because why not (Faiz' actor) and for the most part it seems as if they have fun with it
Add to the fact that the ratings for both have been declining in the past 5 years or so as well.
It just seems odd that something that's been a part of Japanese culture for decades as well as being heavily influential on their popular culture doesn't really get much respect nowadays.

Rider is held in high regard in geek circles at least, which is why you see a greater variety of established writers trying their hand at Rider than Sentai.
Part of the problem is the usual Toei cheapness that affects all areas of their production, not only live action. Look at the disaster that's the Dragonball Super production. If it weren't for the Dragonball brand that show would be dead.

Kids shows were never really that special. It's okay to say you got your start on Rider or Sentai because they're staples of Japanese pop culture but you're generally supposed to want to aspire to bigger things.
So I guess for a frame of reference: Imagine if some big American actor got his start on Power Rangers and went on to do big budget movies, earn multiple awards, and basically become a mainstream star. Said actor wouldn't return to Power Rangers - and sadly, it's often not the actors decision. Agencies have this thing, they feel like going back to these shows is a step down because they're literally called launch platforms in Japan, they're broadcast on a day and time when people are home on national channels. Actors want to go back all the time but their agencies are usually against it and this is generally because the actors in Sentai and Rider, if they go on to have careers, become teen stars and you don't want your teen star doing a geeky kids show.

You do realize the chest-piece of Kiva was quite literally destroying his spine, right? That's why Emperor Kiva uses composite chunks of armor for the chest as opposed to one solid thing spanning the entire torso.
SUpposedly Decade was redesigned to compensate for Takaiwa's damaged lower back by distributing the weight across his upper chest instead.

There's a difference between just a geneuine bad back and a giant hunk of heavy synthetic materials unable to let you move your back at all while putting extreme weight on it.
Half of Takaiwa's back problems stem from suits that restrict movement around his waist and lower spine, as he made similar complaints with W. If he moved in any way that wasn't wide, bowlegged motions, he'd rip the damn thing apart.

The difference is you only have read or heard part of the story. Both Agito and Faiz suit also did serious damage to his back during the time, and he did complained about that in magazine interviews.
Just because you saw him talking about Kiva on video doesn't mean the others are not doing the same level of damage to him in all those years.

Okamoto is a physically bulkier guy than Takaiwa in general. It also had better fucking distribution and didn't require him doing shit like jumping around. Takaiwa's a bit of a huge bitch, but you yourself would beg for mercy after wearing the Kiva suit.

He only complained about Agito, Kiva, and W, the latter two necessitating not only really fucking uncomfortable poses (Agito also has those, but only those) but also very strict movement limits due to the actual proportions of the suit.
He considered Faiz to be one of the perfect suits for his body alongside Decade, if he had such serious back problems from Faiz he wouldn't have let the directors use his default idle positions between scenes for an actual pose for Faiz.
Don't forget that Takaiwa's done his fair few amount of actual mecha acting with suit weights that border 50-70 k, which is pretty goddamn heavy, even if it's not Changerion-tier.
Takaiwa's a whine and always has been, other suit actors have admitted that, but KIva nearly destroying his back is one of the few legit complaints he's actually made.

A Kuuga-based game where you play as Godai, only the Arcle's effect on your mind is more intense and more prevalent than in the show. You have to solve a series of brutal murder mysteries to try and prevent further deaths by eliminating the responsible Grongi, all while you can sense Daguva as this strange malevolent force that's always watching you.
