I'm not good at drawing, but I'm trying to come up with OC's mech for a college project I'm working on. Because it's about some evil space Cthulhu at the edge of the Universe that tries to fight pilots using mech to fight to survive. The thing is to come up with a packaging design and we could choose what the product would be. So for me, I though about working on a box of action figures of the space Cthulhus and the Mechs as if they would be merchandise of a fictive movie.
this is just a rough sketch to get ideas how I'm going to work a poster of a fictive scify movie
for my poster I wanted to get ideas from Kaiju movies like Godzilla or horror movies.

Your designs aren't too great. Don't just make something that looks vaguely like a Dynamic bot, ask yourself the same questions Dynamic Pro did.
>What is its gimmick? What special power does it have?
>Where does it keep its secondary weapons?
>How can I keep this design simple while also distinct?
>Where does the pilot go?
Also lrn2anatomy you fucker

I've been told many times to learn anatomy on /v/ in different drawthread but I don't even know how I'm suppose to learn anatomy, but they are mostly sketches but I doubt I could learn anatomy by next Thursday morning which is the deadline to finish my project.

>I don't even know how I'm suppose to learn anatomy,
This is the age of information, goddamn Head over to /ic/, use google, go to reddit or something. Anatomy itself is pretty simple, even if it takes a lot of work to do right.

You don't seem like the artist type, but at the same time if you were going to submit what you posted in this thread it doesn't seem like a big deal. You don't have to be master, just learn the basics. You don't really need to anatomy if you're drawing robots (especially knockoff Mazingers), but you have to think about how these designs work in 3D space. You can even cheat by posing Mazinger Z in a modeling tool and drawing based on that.

You learn anatomy by looking over things like anatomy books. In other words, you have to learn how to mimic how an actual human body looks. This site might be able to help you: http://www.innerbody.com/

I've always been a slow worker at anything so I've never been able to pull out amazing stuff. All the stuff I've posted, it took me hours to work on them, even if it's just sketches and not fully detailed drawings.

I hate to be that guy anon, but it took you hours to put out these shitty doodles? What the hell are they even for?

I've said it in the OP, it's like trying to make a packaging design of an action figure for a fictive movie. What I find sad is that in my Desktop Publishing technique there is no drawing course, so I don't get the opportunity to learn anatomy.

but then I've probably taken a subject too hard for me. I have to come up with something from my mind with inspiration, what inspired me for that project are action figures like the ones for Kamen Rider and sci-fi stuff with a futuristic era.
I think prototype x-89 is the best so I'm going to go with this one. I've decided to redraw it in SAI, so that I can auto-trace it in Illustrator and color it.
my logo is a tentacle as a signature type because the Ziborgs have tentacles

You should probably take this thread to /ic/. You need a lot of help with your art and there aren't many people here with the actual artistic skills to help you.

yeah it was a bad idea to post my stuff, but now I can't delete the thread because it's too old.
