The subs are probably the same. Its the raws that'd be different. NOP rips from CR so those releases had the CR raws. DoA makes their own encodes from the tv. Usually DoA videos are better than their CR equivalent.

They're a great ska band that now does their own brand of music, they had a great show on the Hub but since everyone was busy watching My Small Horse, this got shitcanned after a second season.

Kind of wish I hadn't bothered with it and Zyuranger, though it is nice to have them as part of the collection. Still, they're not very good, and they're that standard ugly ass yellow. No extra features to speak of, and the Dairanger one is even worse. Only music on the main menu, and it itself is low quality, as are some of the episode previews.

Probably an initial drive but not much more. Honestly, it's not worth it. As I said, the quality of the menu and some of the other things is noticeably lower than the Zyuranger release, and although that only had one con panel as an "extra", this one doesn't even try with that. Video quality is fine for how old it is. No complaints.
Honestly though I could forgive all that if they used more stylish subtitling. It's pathetic. I can't speak to the translation quality, though it seems fairly legit. Except they tend to replace like "Onii-Chan" with the character's names, maybe that's par for the course?

Absolutely false. The first 5 episodes on the DVDs are scanned from film, and seemingly (according to BunnyHat), the reason why they used tape sources from ep 6 of Carranger until the last ep of Timeranger is that they started to have the film masters stored as negatives... Which to me frankly sounds absurd but they still have them, they are just unwilling to reverse the colors in editing for some reason.

Um, yeah, Gokaiger does not consider AbareBlack to be a sixth at all. It considers him to be a part of the main team.
He kind of starts out as an extra, but he does transform in the first episode, remain a main character throughout the series, and gets credited as a ranger in the OP from the start (he's slightly different than the others in that, instead of the OP showing his civilian form followed by his ranger form, it's reversed.)
For all intents and purposes, Abaranger is a 4+1 series, but it does feel like a 3+2 series which puts it in a sort of limbo.
