Trying to do a pretend artbook page with regular lineart. Aiming for a kind of 90's design, so not quite retro but in between a Gundam Wing and Gundam X grunt. Some of the color schemes are taken from Gundam mecha. Lineart is always more difficult for me--probably because you have to communicate everything through good drawing and can't just paint your way through it.

I'm not trying to be rude. I'm just saying that you should actually spend time and effort on your pictures, something you clearly didn't do considering your post speed and the picture itself. Nobody is interested in seeing an avatar - vaguely related to /m/ or not - quickly drawn in 20 different poses, and people don't really chat with each other (or dare I say circlejerk) here, something you seemed to try to initiate. I'll bring this up once more: /b/ drawthreads are very different from other boards' drawthreads simply because a thread doesn't survive for more than an hour. Again I'm not trying to scare you away, I'm just saying you should probably either go there if you want to keep doing what you're doing now because it will be much more well-received there.
Also I'm /r/ing a Zaku. If you wanna do it pull up some reference and try to think about line placements. Take a more structured approach to drawing, it just looks like you picked up a tablet and started without a method in mind. You won't really improve by doing what you're doing now - if that's fine by you then forget I ever said anything.

3x faster Zaku is best Zaku. But if I were you I'd just start with clean lineart and maybe simple shading.
Also I you really want to improve drawing realistically is very important. The sticky over at /ic/ summarizes it fairly well, and posting in the Beginner thread can help keep one's spirits up and one's ego down. Take crits with a grain of salt though, many people just parrot advice that's completely inapplicable to the situation

Ye SAI is pretty gud. Try working with layers (1 Layer sketch->make transparent->draw clean linework->delete sketch layer etc), it'll make your stuff a lot cleaner. Also use the zoom function a lot so you can place small lines with more care

If I was still going today id probably would have learned photoshop, instead I used paint.net or gimp for recoloring. would love a tablet with a screen instead of a pad but back then I dont even think I phone was out yet. I really need to reorganize my computer files if I can find my old art easier on my newgrounds and stuff where I submitted them then my computer... But same thing, drew in pencil used gimp etc to clean up edges, then recolor. I want to say this was for mech day or art day on newgrounds... I cant remember which though been that long. You need good construction and an understanding of how forms work in 3d space (perspective) due to building a human form out of unique shapes. And you need to be able to make your lines go where you want them to, jittery mech drawings look like shit.

Honestly, imitate stuff you like until you can draw something that looks good to you without a reference. Better yet, get an action figure of a design you like and try drawing it from different angles - pay attention to how the joints work as well.
It does help if you have a decent understanding of human proportions (at least for posing) if you're doing a super robot, but for more real robot stuff look at some real machinery/industrial stuff as a basis.
