That's the thing though, there is a "reason" behind evolution, both a "what" and a "why" are there. I accept evolution because it's named, it's laws are established, and it's explained how and why those laws work. It's not the same case for quantum mechanics and even regular physical laws, they're explainable to the extent of "how" they work but not "why" they work, or where they originate, or what's above them.
This situation is analogous to having a theory of evolution without any understanding of DNA, and no microscopes with which to determine that DNA exists. Sure you can prove that evolution happens in that case, but you could only speculate on what causes evolution, and with no means of proving any theory one girl's guess is as good as any other's. That sort of thing is why I find it harder to believe in this absurd universe, because to me it's like evolution without any understanding of dna - I can see that it happens but I need to understand *why,* or else speculation that it's God's work is just as reasonable as anything else!

Yes, the idea of evolution is provable without DNA and I wouldn't deny evolution if DNA hadn't ever been discovered, but then people would ask WHY evolution happens. I, and many other people, simply aren't satisfied with "because it does lol," that's not an explanation it's a cop out. Because there is DNA, people understand scientifically the mechanism behind evolution, which adds credence to the theory which could've been proven well enough without it. However with other, more cosmic concepts, while they can be "proven" insofar as they seem to work a certain way based on our pitifully limited observations, everything is kind of shoehorned in to make it fit, and it doesn't feel yet like a proper, complete explanation yet. Even if it were, it' still lacks an explanation of what's behind the laws, why they work the way they do, other than speculation and "they just do lol."
That's my complaint with current science, and my justification for presuming the existence of a deity, because to my mind only a deity could make something as absurd as our understanding of the universe into a truth.

This is probably gonna sound like just a post about me having first world problems and being super loser like, but the very first time I had social contact for social reasons not schooling / medical reasons was in January. It took an entire year at least from before that. The previous interaction was simply for a hike with a person that I had to do for therapy reasons. A year after that I finally get out of my house and go to ALA with a few posters from a different board. Then two months later I get to go to Seattle which would have been for Sakuracon but I couldn't get in for reasons. It just feels so fucking lonely and depressing with how ltitle interaction I have. I may act like I am all great n shit, and for the most part I feel positively but this aching loneliness just hits me from time to time and eats me from the inside i guess is how to put it.
