Hi /lgbt/ never posted on 4chan before so have no idea what to expect.
But I gotta thing. I'm a guy that likes wearing dresses/skirts/stockings. I'm not trans, I'm not anything other than a straight guy, and I look like one too.
My problem is, female clothing is damn comfortable, ever tried lifting in a breezy dress? It's a great goddamn feeling.
Stockings feel like angels hugging your legs all the time, and the nylon is incredible to the touch.
The only thing that keeps me from wearing the stuff is social convention.
My point is that clothing shouldn't be ascribed to a gender, and you should just be able to wear whatever's comfortable and feels good.

Yeah but 'crossdresser' implies I want to cross genders, which I don't. I'm only interested in wearing a style of clothing that's both comfortable, cool enough in the hot area I live in, and allows for freedom of movement more than jeans do.

I've been wondering for a while. the term "non-binary" has been flying around often and I am getting curious whether it is legitimate or not.
I tried to google that term and 90% of the results are from Tumblr blogs and the rest were either Yahoo answers or cheesy looking websites like buzzfeed. I don't trust any of these websites.
I then tried to search for the same term on Google scholar for more scientific resources, I ONLY got articles from Computer Science topics.
So, is it a made up term from Tumblr's SJW or a legit...

Both my therapists (who don't specialize in gender, fyi) use the term non-binary and genderfluid as well.
It's a synonym for another condition called special snowflake syndrome, it's when you're cis but really want some of that lgbt victimhood, so you say you're non binary, it's non committal becaus you can do whatever you want, yet it bestows upon you special victim status and the ability to get offended at everything.
Euugh idk, I suppose it makes sense that some people don't feel male or female. I've never met one before though so it could be satire.
I seriously wonder how I would handle it if my kid was like that. How could I help him to get better and accept himself as he is, a little boy ? Anyone has stories ?

i don't really think there are more than two genders, and that most non-binary people are either tumblr-trenders (and not trans at all) or dysphoric trans people, who are likely confused and unsure of whether or not they're really just binary trans.
I approve. To me gay/bi/straight is just looking at sexuality in the simplest way possible, I don't see the problem with people creating sub categories within these that better describe themselves, especially if you fall under the bi umbrella, which is rarely a one size fits all deal.

obviously this question doesn't apply if you already have complete acceptance from your parents for being lgbt.
but i was thinking earlier and as an mtf in the middle of transitioning, the best possible thing i think i could hear from them would be "actually you remind me a lot more of how you were as a kid now than you did a few years ago". to me that would mean that they really "get" it, that male puberty was wreaking havoc on my psychological health and making me dead inside. when i look at old photos and videos of myself as a kid i recognize the mannerisms, personality, and facial expressions as coming from the same person i am today, and i really feel like by living as a woman i'm just a more mature version of the boy i used to be (because realistically there was no way that "boy" could have ever been happy trying to be a man..... being a boy was ok, but being a man is something totally different, and it seems obvious when i try to look at kid-me from an outsider's perspective, that that child was never going to be comfortable with a man's body or trying to fulfill that role).
.....on the other hand, in pics/videos from my mid to late teens all i see is dead glazed over looks, nervous smiles, grimacing, and trying to hide my body. i spent those years trying to distance myself from who i was -- whereas in the past few years i've slowly reconnected with who i've been at all different times in my life, but especially the times when i was the most happy and vibrant.
