Ok, I'm at work bored and I figure this is the best place to ask.

I live in NY what are my legal options for an AR platform?

I'm aware with the safe act I can't buy a non-crippled AR so is my only option building one?

If so how do I do that, is that the 80% lower thing everyone talks about?

Sorry for my ignorance I'm new to has guns, all I have is a nugget, Mossberg 500, ar-7, and a Ruger sr1911

Hi guys.

LaRue is now exporting to Europe some accessories, weeeeeeeeeee !
>>
>>30370152
You're missing the point.

MOST Larue stuff is pretty good. The point is, if you get a bad/lemon/substandard product, Mark Larue himself will LITERALLY attempt to shout you down if you try to point out the product's shortcomings online. And if he fails at shouting you down, he will LITERALLY pay the web host to delete the comments. And if that fails, he will LITERALLY file a lawsuit against you for slander.

Instead of acknowledging that everybody occasionally puts out a dud and letting his (pretty decent, at least on paper) warranty take care of it and create a repeat customer.

...are you aware that possessing one with b& features is also illegal? So even if you built one it'd still have to be crippled.

You may, after a costly legal battle, avoid a conviction but it's pretty much assured you won't get the rifle back.

Oh, I forgot to mention they're in hot water with the SCOTUS for destroying evidence guns before the case even goes to trial, so even a total no-bill or acquittal still sees the gun destroyed.

Then comes up with decently cool alternate calibers and shoots any interest in them (and his business) in the dick by patenting them, claiming exclusive manufacturing rights, and refusing to seek SAAMI approval.

Pretty much the same with J.D. Jones. Decent guy in person, basically thumbs his nose at what would otherwise be a wide-open market.

they may not be toxic the same way Mark Larue is, but it doesn't mean they're not toxic.

more stupid uneducated shit

the grendel caliber is completely open. he had it under license to keep it consistent until AFTER it was SAAMI spec'd then released it because retards were frothing at the mouth trying to release their own versions before the SAAMI process was done (and they did, like idiots) because they weren't patient enough for the official specs to be determined and published by SAAMI. He never avoided SAAMI approval. Ever. The whole REASON why he held it under license was to protect the specs so that shooters would get what he designed and not some abomination that some other company made.

people who spread misinformation like you are the reason why you believe this stupid shit about Bill in the first place. you deserve to be ignored and you most definitely should kill yourself.

And the .50 Beowulf, which he *still* maintains exclusive rights to?

Also, the only companies that are making 6.5 ammo are AA themselves, Hornady (licensed with royalty) and Wolf (unlicensed but since they're headquartered in a country that DGAF about US patents they can't be touched).

Just 2 years ago AA threw enough of a shit fit over the Wolf 6.5gren it was barred from import pending the settlement of a civil suit with the US importer. Which as far as I know still hasn't been settled. Which is why the Wolf Gold hasn't been available since like 2008-2009 and why there's only very limited quantities of the steel cased that gets slipped through every once in a while.

Polymer case coating? You can strip that all day for use in the Five-seveN. It only aids feeding in the PS90 magazine, and even then, does almost nothing. Tumble with simple green to avoid stripping it.

That was the other thing; Mei was who you exclusively used. Naturally it's a character with abilities that revolve around removing the ability to play from opponents. I was looking at BA but all they have is govt and m4 profile or ss spr.

Faxon gunner seems good but grouping opened up to 2moa when hot and its $175

ARP socom 2.3lbs good? Don't see anything about them really. I swear they had more barrels months ago.

Integrity Arms seems good but don't see anybody talking about them.

Is wylde really best way to go or only barrel manufacturer matters?

Where do I indicate that I do not believe that the trigger may effect accuracy?

People were claiming that Varmint rounds were the best Anti Personel rounds yesterday, and making wildly inaccurate claims about V Max performance, and Mk262 performance out of SBR barrels.

I simply corrected these assumptions, and while doing so incorrectly assumed that OTMs expand, along with the fragmentation I knew they already did.

Seriously see a doctor, there is something wrong with you.

Anyone have experience with ADM rails? I didn't even know they made rails. They look nice and are priced very well. Do you think it's basically a given that they quality given its ADM?

I've never heard of anything from ADM being bad, so I'd say go for it. You can return it if you don't like it.

Is it a bad idea to put a SSA trigger into babby's first AR15? Another anon said it will reinforce bad habits.
>>
>>30372089
M-Lok v Keymod is really a preference thing. Keymod is generally lighter but M-Lok stuff is generally more affordable. Plus I personally feel like keymod doesn't really lock as securely.

Oh yea I agree on that specific point but the general statement that trigger pull can never be too light is still not true.

There will always be a point where shit is just retarded. A point >>30372112 seemed to miss.

it depends on the gun IMO. saying a 8oz trigger pull is dumb for every gun is retarded when it is great for precision bolt guns, ya feel me?

Guys I get you. I am joking around. Anyone have that serious of a issue with triggers is retarded. That being said there are very few things in existence whose optimal range is not a middle ground. Being a technical asshole there absolutely can be a point at which trigger pull is retardedly (and unrealistically too light). Like if it took 0.0000001 oz to set it off....
>>
>>30372521
it is very interesting also the best MOD. ModH > Mod 0 >>> Mod 1

i doubt this has been done for anyone in the general public

>That being said there are very few things in existence whose optimal range is not a middle ground.
this is what's known as a value judgement, it is not fact despite your claim it is.

>Like if it took 0.0000001 oz to set it off....
if it takes that little force, it is unsafe to handle. This isn't how the real world works...

You can get 5.7 ammo just fine. If you are referring specifically to SS190, you can buy that on Gunbroker all day long. But why bother with SS190 when Elite Ammunition's offerings are far superior in both AP ability and wounding ability.

>>30371020
A 10 inch AR flings 55gr bullets at 2500-2700 FPS. A PS90 flings the same bullet at 2300 FPS. Think about that. And you can always SBR a PS90 as well.

Got myself an El Cheapo light just to see if I like it or not. Not sure where I want to mount it; I've tried 6 o'clock and 7/8 or whatever o'clock.

Not sure if I want to use the toggle button or the pressure switch either.

I'm a right handed shooter. Any recommendations on how to set my light up? Pressure or toggle? Where should I mount it? It's my "home defense" weapon if that changes anything. Just wondering the advantages of different setups.

Still have to finish removing the color fill as well tonight

i wont take advice from someone who doesn't know anything about 5.7, i don't respect ineptitude

About to get an AR here, if I get one chambered for 556 I can also shoot 223 with it, but not the other around? Are 223 and 556 mags interchangeable? Please forgive my ignorance; I have never owned and ar15.

Knowing that some lots of factory 5.7 practice ammo have glued projectiles is pretty obscure knowledge to have without seeking it out. I've pulled down factory ammo, and none of the lots I've pulled down were glued in.

hi there ar noob here. can I have a scope on my arm without taking off the front post sight?
>>
>>30373247
AR...
>>
>>30373247
Yes. You can get co-witness mounts for red dot sights, or for magnified optics, you can get higher mounts that go above that.

Your best bet would be to replace the front sight with fold down backup sights though.
>>
>>30373325
hmmm, thank you for that. I just bought my first AR it's a Ruger ar-556. I have only ever used magnified scopes for derr huntn, however I'm intrigued by this "battle" thingies and red dots. I was eyeing a 9x40 magnified scope earlier but idk if it would just be of any use for the .223 stuff I plan on shooting out of this gun.
my budget is about 250. any advice?
also I'm partial to the look and practicality of keeping the irons sience I don't want to spend to much on a quad rail or buy a cheap ass barrel cover thingy.

I'll have to get some and try them out. Really liking that rail as well. But nigga, just go buy the new AFG and drop that adapter.

Finally found my SFMB 556 in stock at LaRue, ordered it and got an email saying it was back ordered, 1-3 weeks.

>fuck you mark
>>
>>30373962
I bought the AFG I did on purpose. The other one is WAY too small compared to this one.
