What are some good books about firearms? Any kind of guns. Preferably books that go into detail about the design and history.
The Gift of Fear was pretty interesting. We do a lot of suppressing instincts that were developed to keep us safe.

It's mostly about the importance of the Second Amendment and the development of 2A culture and politics up to the late 1960s. He advocates strong civilian marksmanship programs and laments the emasculation of the populace.

Mine can be temperamental and fail to eject when I haven't oiled it in a while, or if I'm feeding it steel-cased ammo.
Lately, though, I've been having a failure to feed, generally the last round in my 8rd magazine, but sometimes not. I'm getting ready to replace it with a S&W M&P 9 Shield.
