As I said I'm using the classic one that we all know for a base since this is just a rebuild.

The first panel starts with an aerial shot of 1st Bull Run, and the usual narration about how the war started and the like. Narration goes on for 7 or 8 panels, all showing different things like the Union flag, Confederate flag, Fort Sumter, some old documents, etc.
Then, next page or the 3rd (depending), we get a closeup to a soldier, Confederate, called Danna Jameson, form the 2nd Corps, Army of Northern Virginia.
We show some scenes of her and her line advancing towards something, and there it goes.
I've got ideas for spare scenes, like the death of Stonewall Jackson:
It's dark, our (at the time) heroine is camping with her friends after heavy fighting at Chancellorsville, when they hear horses a comin'.
Her commander, an insufferable Ojou-sama (you know the type) call the infamous "Halt, who goes there?"
After she responds "Stonewall Jackson", the Ojou opens up, screaming about Yankees.
And that's about what I got.
And, uh, I need a title for the wordpress thing. Can /k/ come up with one? Cuz I'm stumped.

I like this picture it seems like the start of a good story.
Minor details to make sure your story is good, whichever direction it goes:
Characters need clear motivation for what they are doing and why they are doing it - For military stories, "the mission" is not good enough. Characters need their own personal motivations for why they are invested in the success of the mission or you can explore their reasons for joining the military and the struggle as it is only a stepping stone to what they really want to do in life (I only signed up for college is cliche, but it works)
Make sure you have realistic internal logic. You can have a realistic story with scifi elements. If you have super ninja operators who can cut dudes with Katanas, they can't exactly be running through an open field or take 9 billion bullets. Characters also need to react in certain ways and play up why it is "supernatural" - If there is a character who doesn't die when shot in the head because he's "immortal" or some shit, make sure you increase the drama and the tension in that scene
Attention to smaller details is key. The smaller the details your target demo will see, the better. You don't need to have hyper realistic art but things should just be as real as they would be in that world. In American Sniper the rifles evolved over the course of that movie in their timeline, even the PEQ's on the guns changed throughout the deployments.
Make sure you pace the story right, the main characters need flaws, if you need a romance make sure it is at maximum a love triangle with one obvious end point (Think Twilight, she obvious is going to end up with the fucking vampire but that stupid dog boy had a very small chance), find a plot that can drive your entire story, know when to end it and make sure you use foreshadowing from the beginning, but only enough to make fan theories but not enough for cold hard facts

why are women all the only operators and politicians. is it just some alternate world where men don't fight? that is boring. are the men too weak to fight? boring. for some reason are there not a lot of men and they can't be in fighting roles because they are needed for breeding? kind of interesting. What happened? Was there a plague that only killed off men? Declining birth rates? What are men's role in society!
This stuff is interesting to talk about, and makes people talk and question your worlds lore

I'm really trying to find accurate onomatopoeia for various ordnance. For example, I'm sure you all know BANG isn't really what a AKM sounds like. Imo it sounds more like "KAK" when you're in a large open space.

want to get better at drawing or find a drawfag to make a /k/ related webcomic/graphic novel with manga styled art. The premise is thus:
a mish mosh of the WWI and the Iran-Iraq war with slightly better than modern weapons and technology and tactics. politically, it is based on the Thirty years war -- the original war to end all wars. The story follows a squad banded together from the survivors of other decimated companies and their fight for survival. While the 'good guys' are from an anglo-russian nation, there are also minor characters followed from their franco-german enemies and the commonwealth/japanese/israeli nation in the middle of them that both sides are fighting in, in what has become a never ending three way war that everyone is trying to exploit to their own ends.
Originally inspired in style by the gritty urban fighting of the original Gears of War, its turned out that such inspiration has actually played itself out in Syria. The story would explore themes of loss, futility, brotherhood, and realpolitik (international anarchy theory)

The primary problem with GuP and Upotte is that it's a moe-shit anime with guns and tanks thrown in. Gunslinger Girl is a plot and conflict driven anime with mature themes and complicated relationships. The girls don't go to school, it's not set in Japan, and there is very real danger present in the show.
