Nice, I personally prefer 1/35 but 1/48 should be fun as well. If you're not sure about how to paint camouflage I'd recommend just painting it sand yellow. It looks pretty good even if you don't use any advanced tools/techniques imo

Not sure if the Hetzers were ever panzer gray since almost all tanks were sent to the front painted sand yellow (if you care about autenticity). Sand yellow and panzer gray will be equally easy anyways.

I use pretty crude tools so I can't get the nice airbrush finish. I paint with dentist brushes and humbrol enamel paints. For the wearing I just used a dirty brush with small amounts of black or brown. To achieve some blured effects I took a piece of a paper towel to the fresh paint. Sometimes I use q-tips as well.
