What's the best way of raising a pet? I'm trying to raise a bear without letting it level up past a point where it's skill levels aren't up to snuff for it's level range. Like a level 44 with 20 in Tactics. I've mostly been giving it hundreds of thousands of gold and it's potentials are still just barely above 'bad'. What's the quickest way of getting high-ish skill levels on most skills?

As soon you get a decent gene engineering level a pet's level won't matter since you'll just want to gene engineer them to the highest level currently possible.
