Part shitposting, part interest in the Irish culture and why they did away with their own language. I mean I understand why it happened, most of the speakers of Irish mostly moved to the US after the famine and the ones that were left slowly also started to accept English. But it is a shame though, threads with English as standard language are always a little less tight knit.
