For anybody that doesn't understand leaseholds, most houses you get amortgage on are on a leasehold, which means somebody owns the land your house is built on.
It either costs about 10-30k to buy the land off the aristocrat that owns it or you have to pay rent on it every year and after the leasehold expires they own your house, even if you paid the mortgage.
Nowhere else in the world has this, why the fuck is this still a thing?
