Who /small city/ here?

>tfw "downtown" is almost all parking

At what point does a city move from parking lots to parking structures?

Stavanger is less nice, but it can be excused as it was a rather poor city after the viking ages until modern times. At least it has a lot of spires.

Barcode is actually soon to be finished, with only one tower left in its cluster under construction.

A couple more towers might be coming to the right here, but still no design for them.

I think the height is alright, as it is right by the waterfront after all. Don't want to have tall wall of towers that blocks out everything else. And it's also a start, as it gradually makes people more and more used to heights. The real towers should come behind, next to these two lonely ones.

It's so odd. If you have a line of important buildings, they're supposed to be on the same street. Each building in that cluster has 2 streets on either side.

If parking demand requires extention but land purchasing more costly than construction works and ongoing maintance minus operational income.

In your case - not in your lifetime.

And just living this here https://www.coursera.org/learn/designing-cities/

No.
They are a cluster of buildings. But if you need to get from one end to the other, you have quite a long walk. Compare that to, say, The City in London. They are bunched together and thus quicker to get to.

I don't think you quite understand.
It's barely 250 metres from start to end, with everything behind being trains tracks, and the end of a freeway being to the right. Coupled with the fact that it's a tiny space overall, and the soil in front being weaker, I don't think it would be possible, practical or beneficial to build a City of London type cluster there, especially when grouped with the fact that the 12 towers are barely 50% of the full development. If you had been there, you would also realize how incredibly easy it is to navigate and get from A to B, not to mention interesting, as the gaps between the buildings are all quite unique (and you can literally walk straight through some of the towers).

reee so barcode will be partly covered with these low rises?
>>
>>53059419
Yeah, but I don't mind. It makes it all look complete. Putting another batch of high-rises there would look silly, and too imposing. Even that one high-rise on the artificial platform in front there looks silly.

Reminds me a bit of a town here called Arendal, but with fancier buildings.
And I'm not sure. I like both "rural" and city life, but maybe the latter, in a central area preferably. I enjoy the feeling of there being life around me, and I also enjoy being in walking distance to all my needs.

Somewhere like Geneva. Comfier than London, still a major global city.
>>
>>53060159
I visited Geneva. And despite all these institutions, I didn't really feel this global vibe. It looked kind of I dont know, a bit empty? Probably it's not large enough for me. But it's a beautiful and clean city for sure.
