In Jersey the only thing to do is to have /int/ get you sent to prison for terrorism and autism related offenses.
Or stare at prepubescent girls on the playground.

Used to live on Nantucket. It's pretty comfy and quiet. I like winter the best because there are no tourists and lots of the part-time residents and loud beach-going fucks who crowd the place in the summer all leave. It's snowy, very cold, and incredibly peaceful. Hoping I can retire there someday if the sea level doesn't fuck us over. Only thing you have to worry about is storms. Still though, there's nothing like walking down a desolate frozen beach in a frozen abandoned summer town.

Reads like poetry. These desolate places filled with beauty and nature are my dream.

It musn't be Stewart Island. There's a few hundred there. Also there's a few hundred on the Chatham Islands.
Where is it in relation to the NZ mainland? Just a general idea, distance etc.
I've taught myself a fair bit about the outlying islands and territory of NZ in recent months, do you know anything particular about them?
In particular, why are the Solander Islands styled as "Outlying Islands" when they're not 40 miles off the coast, and under regional authority (unlike the others)?
Is "Outlying Islands" even an official New Zealand designation?

The North is heavily mountainous and forested with a mediterranean climate. You can actually live a comfy (albeit rudimentary) life in some villages atop the mountains. It also snows a fair bit in winter.

The great South is vast swath of uncharted sand, I like to think it's not your average desertscape, it can be breathtakenly beaufitul, especially the Tassili n'ajjer area.

I really want to know what the tiny shed is on the far left of the island.
I think Bjork bought that place too.

Sounds wonderful. There's something very peaceful about desert land, where you hear nothing but wind and blowing sand. Silence is a reare thing where I'm from so I really like getting out to the desert. If I'm white should I bring a gun for protection?
It looks a lot like Arizona and Southern Utah judging by your videos.
