I keep hearing about getting a set of gray markers all the time, but what can you actually do with them? I havent seen almost any pictures that would make a good use of them.
Could you please post some marker examples / inspiration?
I don't have any saved but I see really cool stuff done with grey copic markers all the time.
I got some faber-castel pens that I can't really get the hang of though.

It's used in industrial design a lot. Or well it was, but it is being replaced by digital. Other people use it as a way to do quick tone for thumbnails or early sketches for illustrations. Alberto Mielgo comes to mind for this.

Ugh, the internet on my desktop stopped working for some reason (posting this from my laptop with no files on it) so I can't keep posting more of these. There's several more that show some city street scenes and I think there's some interiors for some commercial or show he did, and some cars and stuff for the Rockband Beatles thing. He's also got a bunch that are just black marker with no greys. You get the idea I guess from what I posted.

Sorry mate, my desktop can't connect to the internet still. Not sure what the issue is since my laptop is fine. If you dig through his old blog posts from a few years ago you can find some of the marker stuff he did though. Here's an example: http://albertomielgo.blogspot.ca/2007/05/xbox-2.html

these are better representations how its used today, for quick visual communication, no one in industrial design sits there for an hour rendering manually
