Anyone here use Discord?

I have a problem with the desktop version - hyper links won't open when I click them. I have Chrome set as my default browser (inb4 botnet) and tried running the program as admin, but neither helped.

Any suggestions?
>>
>>55187520
OS? I'm guessing Windows because you said `run as admin` and not `run as root`.

What router should replace my WRT54G? There's a deadzone where my TV is, and I need something that isn't 10 years old so that that isn't a problem anymore. Also looking to have it route my connections through my VPN, while leaving my roommates untouched.

The main reason for upgrading will be streaming games over a Steam Link, so I don't know if it needs that MIMO/MU-MIMO stuff or not. I'm still on 802.11g, so I'm not really up on any of the latest advances in not-sucking.

There is only one, but I think you're on the right track, after selecting it and launching Chrome it said it was no longer the default. Weird.
>>
>>55187652
Weird. I haven't actually used Discord, I just Google'd the problem, the first couple of results were Reddit posts suggesting trying other listings of Chrome, making sure Chrome was the default, and reinstalling Chrome. Saw each of em fix someones problem, so, ya'know, try those things.

At what point does it make sense to use rackmount cases over normal cases when using multiple computers? I'm planning on building a NAS and have tossed around the idea of hosting my own email (which would likely result in me later hosting other services). Would it make more sense to go with rackmount cases for easy stackability in a closet/the corner of my room when/if I choose to do more?

I've got $100 to upgrade the graphics card in my main rig. It has a GT 440 in it currently.

New cards didn't really impress me at the $100 mark.

About a month ago I had a serious injury that resulted in my spinal cord practically shattering. That's an exaggeration, but the point is I'll be confined to my bed whenever I'm not undergoing physical therapy for the next few months.

I'm normally a neet piece of shit that masturbates all day, so I'm already extremely bored since I'm limited to using my outdated garbage phone. I can't even watch television since I have to lie perfectly flat on my back or else it's extremely agonizing.

So I had this great idea of getting a projector and using it to project my desktop onto the ceiling, letting me comfortably use it from bed. But I know very little about projectors.

>tl;dr does anyone have experience using a projector on the ceiling for light gaming, and are there any recommended projectors for doing this?

Get a tower with eight hard drive slots. You don't need a rack for just yourself. And you don't need to keep terabytes of other people's stuff on hard drives. You're not authoring that much. Quit hoarding and grab it as you want it.

I've been going that route for years and have noticed that it isn't the best in the long run as shit sometimes gets moved or suddenly gets a lot harder to find, especially more recently. I've also noticed times when I found a lot of shit that I wanted that would only be available for a limited time.

If you got a string with a date in this format "YYYY-MM-DD"
What would be the best way to calculate the age of someone giving this date ?

I've got a question concerning grep.

I have some address data in an asc file as simple text. The first 30 characters are for the name. If the name is shorter than the 30 characters whitespaces fill it up to ensure its length is 30. At position 31 is a whitespace to seprate the name from the next data which is the address. After the address is also a whitespace and some other data. My plan is to retreive the address, which starts at index 32 and continues to index 50. All i tried led to only getting nothing or always the data beginning at the start of the line.
 grep –o -P '^.{31,34}' myfile.asc

Is it possible to retreive my substring like that? I can't search for a certain pattern since every set of Data is different except the whitespaces which seperate the data. I prefer to use grep since performance is an issue.

note: youtube doesn't use mp3, so you'll get better quality if you opted for m4a/vorbis/opus instead, this command will result in mp3's, by having ffmpeg transcode them to mp3 after downloading them

Last night I overheated my computer (left it turned on inside a cabinet) and my mobo died. I already tested all other parts in another computer and they all work.

It's an ECS A55F2-M3 (V1.0)

Is there a way to save the mobo? I don't see any physical damage.

Reposting.

Guy with the 970 shitting itself on GTAV posting again.

Shit's still on warranty, but how can I convince costumer support that the card is faulty? How can I even be 100% sure?

Shit drops to 45 fps even on TF2 sometimes paired with an i5 4690k.

More insight, it always happens on startup, after launching the game a couple of times it works fine. It also didn't happen last year when I built the computer.

Answers I got so far:

>970 going over 3,5GB
Why it works fine after a while then?

>Issue with drivers
I'm gonna try some driver from 2015 to test when I get home

>W7 fucking you in the ass to upgrade to 10

Most ISP's have a mandantory 2 year log of every ips activity. It would be little more then a simple subpena to get your info, which is already logged by your isp, because apparently IP=Person
They are creating a personality which can then be tracked around the internet, futher exposing your self.
>>
>>55192068
Never mind, fixed it. Was using VLC so I went to "Open Multiple Files" and added the movie, then added the audio with the "play another media synchronously" option. The audio I added popped up as "Audio 3" (1 and 2 being two Russian dubs over the English) and it worked.

Your ISP keeps logs of which account was tied to which IP at a given time, the government can request that data and the ISP can give that data away freely or choose to require a subpoena before releasing it.

Thanks for answers.
I didn't do anything, it just crossed my mind that if you are legal subscriber to your local ISP (paying monthly for internet service) it means you signed the deal with ISP with all your private info.
So I presumed that they probably always can know which customer has particular IP at the moment based on their telephone/cable or something that they can uniquely identify which customer is it.

Is this right? I mean I get it how could they find me over my telephone since it is bound to my internet , but what if you took some other way of internet service (maybe over cable television or some other way)? Is it as easy as with telephone since telephone is also bound to your personal info when you got it installed in your house?
Also ,Static or dynamic IP doesnt matter in this case right?

Pretty much all ISPs require authentication for the connection to work, you may not have configured it yourself but there should be a username and password in your modem's settings somewhere.

Static or dynamic does not matter.

>>
>>55193285
Anyone can log and track you to any ip and then get your info, that is how it is done.ISP's are forced to store ip data for 2 years before they can get rid of it .
