In my opinion the problem with win 10 is that it is not all too different from 8.1, and it only added a lot of background shit, and online advertising which is not only annoying, and gets in the way, it makes tracking malware even harder.

Maybe, but being realistic the manpower to track and make use of any gathered info seems like the kind of sci-fy fantasy that is more fantasy than science.
I have grown to prefer it to win 8.1 to switch back, but they better upgrade their security otherwise it will make Virtual Desktops or Linux partitions almost mandatory for online activities.

All the computers I've done it have been. It takes about 5 mins on an SSD, much shorter than the actual upgrade.
It's probably best if you do it right away, before allowing Win10 to online update anything which might break compatibility.
