That said, I just jumped the gun and got my mom a Moto G 3rd Gen, but I also saw that the ZenPhone 2 is about 20 bucks cheaper. Should I cancel my order and get the ZenPhone instead? I have had win10 running for some months, and alongside I've installed many linux distro's. Everytime I changed distros I went into disk management in win10 and deleted the partition.
In my bios there's mint, ubuntu, fedora etc., eventhough I don't have these installed.
I'm planning on changing distro again to manjaro but I feel like I'm not deleting them properly. This will probably be my definitife choise so I want everything clean and secure. I might also format and install win10, how do I just completely delete the current linux distro and all the traces from the other distros if there's any? And can I just remove win10 by deleting it's partition in the win10 installer?

i just got a zenfone max today and it's great. it does come with a lot of bloatware, though. i think the zenfone 2 is no different.

Do you mean GRUB when you say BIOS?
Because deleting the partition in Windows will not delete it from GRUB (though it doesn't take up any space anymore).
If you want a clean install of Linux, just wipe the entire drive.
If you want a clean install of your (current linux), boot from a Windows recovery disk/USB drive and repair the MBR/bootloader

With BIOS I meant boot order. In the boot order inside the BIOS I see all the distro's I've had(like 3). This tells me they left traces.

Make sure the Power Supply is properly connected to the Motherboard.
You should at least get power on if those are installed correctly and working.
I would try exchanging the PSU. If that doesn't fix it, then exchange the motherboard.

Also does anyone by any chance know how would you go around fixing an ASUS motherboard with a dead BIOS? As in, only shows that silly POST logo, no access to literally anything after a key press, gets stuck there. The motherboard is supposed to have a way to directly access its flasher in case of corruption if you put a flash drive with a properly named bios file, but whenever I try that approach the motherfucker just keeps restarting after that ASUS logo instead of getting stuck. Like it's trying to access that software and it ain't there.

I have a 128gb sd card so I just load all my anime onto it from my PC and watch in bed if I don't feel like sitting up. It's probably better to watch older anime because you won't really benefit from hi10p FLAC from your phone speakers, but with old avi aac anime it doesn't really impact the experience all that much.

Deluge doesn't download torrents normally. Usually the download would start like 5-10 seconds after adding the torrent and it would go normally, but I bought this laptop, did a clean install and shit and after adding the torrent to deluge it doesn't start downloading. Sometimes something manages to jumpstart the download, but I haven't pinpointed the thing, like sometimes after restarting the laptop, I can see that the download starts, not always though

I had a windows 7 install on a hard disc drive.
I want to install an SSD alongside it, install licensed windows 10 on it, use it as my boot drive and eventually format the old one.
What's the best way of doing this?
Can I install onto the other drive while booted into the current 7, or do I need a bootable USB? Can I still use the free upgrade license even if I'm moving drive - how? Do I grab my old windows 7 key with a keygrab utility and plug it into the new install?

Updated my Android device to the newest version of the ROM, didn't like it, downgraded by flashing a lower version ROM.
Now when the device boots, it reboots and goes into recovery. It doesn't show up in ADB, so fastboot is my only option. However, I can't seem to get my ROM flashed again from there.

I'll see people typing, but nothing pops up in the chat until I reload the page. This is happening with everyone on my facebook chat, and started happening last night. I've tried:

- installing a new web browser
- deleting the data/logging out of facebook on my phone and on my computer

Is Windows blocking Google servers? On W7 and W10 I can't even load the Google search. Google services like YouTube and gMail take forever to load. On Debian it works fine. Android works too, but only throught the apps. I tried changing the DNS but nothing. With the DNS checker, it says the SOA is invalid for Google but I can't change that, so it should be a Google server problem but that doesn't explain why it works with Debian.

The PSU you use won't actually draw all that power unless it needs it all at once, so unless you have 8 hard drives spinning, all of your GPUs going full speed overclocked, burn a blu ray disc, and calculate the return trajectory of a SpaceX rocket while your home server reaches some absurd load for no reason at all at the same time you should be fine.

Okay, Debian is not working anymore. These are the errors I get, pls help.
I'm not sure if anyone here has any experience with this but I'll ask anyway.
So my brother has a moto x 2013 with an amoled display, and we noticed a stuck pixel in the bottom left side of the screen (it's stuck on green).
Now it was my understanding that amoled screens can't get stuck pixels, but it is definitely lighten up, so I don't think it's dead.
Is there any way to fix this? We've tried a bunch of stuck pixel fixing apps from the play store and left them on for about an hour but none of them have worked so far.
Anything else we can do or is it just hardware related?

My Logitech Anywhere MX mouse stutters badly in Windows 10. I also have a cheap Microsoft mouse, and it has zero issues in Windows 10.
That same Logitech mouse also works flawlessly in Debian. So it's definitely an issue with Logitech + Windows 10.
Even though it can't logically be a background process issue, I've cleaned up unnecessary processes anyway. The problem still exists.

Does pinging google.com work? (open cmd, run command "ping google.com" without quotation marks, obviously)
Does nslookup google.com return IPs? If no, your DNS is fucked. Try setting it to 8.8.8.8
Can you ping a google IP? (try 109.193.192.109 if nslookup doesn't return anything) If no, your ISP is fucking with you.

I'm not very hardware savvy but I'm trying to install a new internal hard drive and was hoping for some help;
Do SATAs going to Hard Drives and regular disc drives (like a Blu-Ray drive,) use similar slots on a mother board? Can I interchange them?
I need to have both my old and new internal hooked up, but I don't seem to have an extra slot for the new one, so I was wondering if I can just take the SATA out of my Blu-Ray drive and use it for the new internal HDD.
One other thing, assuming the above is doable, will plugging my previous internal HDD to a different SATA cable mess with my computer at all? Will it still recognize it like usual or will it get all fucked up and try to reformat it?

Unless your mother board is weird, SATA slots should be interchangable.
Changing around your HDDs will result in your BIOS/UEFI looking for your boot drive where they used to be, not where they are now. If you manage to boot, Windows will probably do its darnedest to fuck with you, so have backups.
Also, look into PCIe SATA controller cards. (Although a new MoBo might be cheaper)

Sounded like maybe a power supply issue. Tested it everything, PSU was fine. Stress tested the computer to draw as much power out of the power supply as well and to see if any of the components were busted, worked fine.
Those were all offline solutions, but then we decided to open up a youtube video
Lo and behold, the computer shut off.
So put in a new PCI network card and disabled the onboard port. Been testing it all day today, and past 7 hours it has not turned off.
