Ordered this for $25.91 during the cakebux sale, testing it for ~2 hours, some comments:
- There was a software update. Now running Android 5.1.1.
- Despite the seller's claims, the box is prerooted, SuperSU Free is installed out of the box.
- It can play H265 10bit 1080p with Kodi, haven't tried other players yet.
- Skype and Hangouts video call works if you plug a webcam into it.
- Twitch works. Both native app and as a Kodi addon.
- Feels well built. Judging by its weight it should have a massive heatsink inside.
- The remote feels a bit slow but it's acceptable. I think I'll order some bluetooth keyboard later.
- The power supply is very light, I hope it won't burn down my house.
- The box doesn't seem to support the XBOX 360 controller. Looking at dmesg I think the driver is not compiled into the kernel.
- The system seems to kill every single application in the background, so no spotify in the background without hacking. To fix this, you need to ssh into the box, became root, remount /system as rw and delete this file: /system/etc/allowbackgroundapp.list

The seller i bought my Redmi 3 from on AliExpress promised no import/customs fees (i live in northern europe). Well so far what I've got is this: when I was hunting down sellers on Aliexpress, one advertised if you picked the option of DHL they automatically used "European Union Express" which guarantees not custom duty or tax, I'm thinking because that service (unknown how it works) makes it so that the package is being shipped from inside EU so no taxes are needed, meanwhile others offer you standard ali which is mail and roll the dice to see if you get taxes.
Problem for me is that if I choose that option, the total price is ~240€, which comes very close to what I had to pay in custom taxes if I just went and rolled the dice, so it's not really that good a deal for me.
Also some sellers on the product description say they declare a much lower price for what's inside (in my case, they said they declared 65$ when it was about +200$ the order), I don't really know how that translate on taxes, if you get caught lying about it what can happen.
Best price option I've found is get it from gearbest or banggood EU/US storage so long you live inside the same region, but all Prime (3/32 instead of 2/16) versions are sold out, so I just went for the basic one. Total cost 180 with express + insurance 4-7 days and no extra fees.
