Yes because AHD is tiny and not a great HD tracker like HDBits is.
However, if you don't care about HD that much, you shouldn't bother. Most people will say BTN and PTP are more than enough. I personally use HDbits as my backup for BTN/PTP though because it is always up and running.
There's some bragging rights in there, but HDBits is truly worth joining if you love HD. If you aren't crazy about HD, though, you just won't give a damn.

I have both AHD and HDBits and I will be honest:
HDBits has more stuff than AHD will ever have. There's no pointing in having an AHD account if you have HDBits. The only good things about AHD are the freeleech and the chill staff. That's it.
That being said, if you don't aren't obsessed with getting HD content, don't bother signing up for HDBits because it won't matter that much to you. It's only for people who want the best and biggest selection of HD content and PTP/BTN is all you need for that.
HDBits is not really needed, but its worth joining if you are addicted to HD content. If you join and are disappointed, it's because you're an idiot who couldn't help themselves and didn't listen to the people like me who will tell you that you didn't need it in the first place.

BCG > GGN. GGN is hella easy to get buffer the problem is they keep getting fucked up and going down for long periods of time. BCG also seem to get some things first. GGN has a better community though because they make it so your user class goes up with IRC and forum post as well. GGN has a decent IRC compared to BCG.
