I am not talking about /g/, the Windows community lashed out at M$ for the lack of start menu in 8 and by the time 8.1 update 2 repaired the damage, they had abandoned it like Vista in favor of 7.

It works when the WM and everything else on the foreground or workspace is sharp because it has that complementary contrast going on, the soft background makes the foreground "pop", but where and when did it start to begin with?

I have a top secret desktop that I've never posted before. It's my trump card, the one that beats all other desktops. It's my magnum opus. If I posted it, desktop threads would never be the same.

Yes the amount of spying by default sucks and the constant re-installing of Microsoft bloatware with every major update also sucks, but from a usability standpoint there is very little difference between 8.1 and 10, and 10 has some minor bug fixes here and there and even some nice features.
I would love to use Linux but the hardware support just isn't there unless you buy specifically for-linux hardware, and the level of polish is still atrocious. I don't want to get my eyes stabbed every time I boot up or load an application that doesn't use the UI toolkit of my current desktop environment.
Bottom line, Windows sucks, but it sucks in ways that are less detrimental to my productivity and comfort.
Being disrespected by nerds is the least of my concerns.
