For real though FLAC is an awful audio codec. Uncompressed WAV is 1.4 Mbps. I only managed to compress most of my music to 1-1.1 Mbps with FLAC.

How?
I usually manage 60-80% sizes on my files, even then FLAC is efficient enough that it justifies even only being a little compression.
But my big one is metadata.
FLAC files are like WAV files but with the features of an OGG container. Worthy of the effort alone.

nobody cares about metadata. The filename alone can contain artist + song name and a folder can contain album name and date it was released. Throw in a picture in that folder if you wanna stare at their shitty artwork.

I'm not delusional, the reason I use wav is because it simply loads faster on all media players and flac only saves like 20-30% filesize. I know it doesn't sound better than 320k mp3 but I don't want to go through the hassle of encoding shit. On top of that I listen to music on my desktop most of the time though I still have a few wav albums on my phone.
my shit from 10 years ago in 320kpbs is still perfect and storage space isn't an issue. I'm not gonna go find FLAC rips for all my shit just to reencode to whatever the flavor of the month format is.
